We are still short of a playmaker or at least some creativity IMO, but it’s not like signing Abdull prevented us signing anyone else. He was signed early doors and we still went for Lam and Sailor, possibly Sullivan and signed Cust and Sezer after.
It was a gamble that was taken because he would have qualified for a big dispensation on the salary cap because he came through the academy, it was a unique situation. Looking at who was available maybe we could have signed someone like Olly Russell as a third senior half instead of doing the JA deal, but there’s an argument to say that long term Charles or Kemp might work out better for the club anyway then that.
