To be fair, I'm not sure why a player would be expected to take some of the abuse he did on social media for getting injured and just stay quiet, fans are entitled to there opinions on players for me equally players have the right to reply, particularly when the abuse is as bad as it is.
Every club has there fair share of idiots don't they, sometimes when things are going great, more of those idiots come out of the woodwork. I'm good friends with one of the fringe first teamers at wakey, he reckons when Trueman rocked up to Wakefield he had over 400 vile message requests on his Twitter from FC fans, some of them really vile, I just don't think getting injured or underperforming justifies any of that. Maybe actually look at the parts of your fan base he was calling out because it's probably true they are toxic.
Think all clubs have their share of toxic fans...kr had their empty vessels and your own fans aren't perfect the way they treated Applegarth when in charge 2 years ago....anyway, good luck to Scott and Trueman, bout time they got a injury free run

100% mate, every club does which is exactly what I said in my post. Although I will be honest, some of the things I have seen come out of FC over the years have been beyond what I have seen at others, I'm talking wishing death on players for signing for a rival club etc, that's just mental to me how so many fans can get on board chanting something like that..
You are right about Applegarth aswell, which is why I had no issues what so ever about him calling the fans out when he moved on.
I've always found wzkey fans to be pretty balanced with huge chips on both shoulders. There were some right tw@ts followed them back in the day when the mines were still open. Most of them probably live in a caravan in some desolate place in the east coast by now. Much better than living in wakey of course

Yes I agree no player should be subject to that kind of abuse, but he labelled the FC fan base toxic, not the select few who sent messages. At the time they was were mainly good luck replies on social media. Made himself look silly with his outburst.
Well after what feels like forever we are finally at game week.
As always with friendlies the result is irrelevant, I think our fitness and intensity levels will be the key things to take away from Saturday, recall us struggling in those departments against Doncaster last year, which in hindsight should have had alarm bells ringing for the season to follow.
Re the twitter messages Trueman has supposedly received, I'll take with a pinch of salt, he only follows about 260 people, so to receive messages of anyonew, not just fc fans they both have to follow each other or your are unable to message that person.

Does it really matter how many messages he has received? He's still receiving them as did Scott. I don't agree with Scott labelling the whole fanbase as toxic like he did but I can also understand why he made such an outburst when he's receiving such messages.
The discussion should more be about what can be done to stop players receiving such messages in the first place. Because they don't deserve that. In fact no one does because this isn't just about sports people or "celebrities" as we can all be victims of such things. More needs to be done to stop people hiding behind phrases like "freedom of speech", "entitled to my opinion" and even "banter" when they are really just being vile, abusive and toxic. At the moment there's no real consequences to such behaviour.
And that's not just aimed at us. As Homme Vaste says, every club has it's fair share of idiots as does every fandom whether it's your favourite TV show, films, your favourite band etc.
