Although they are being a bit drama Queen about it, they are not far wrong.

Just a question, is it £24 for away standing, I thought it was £22 (and a bit cheaper in advance)

It's hard to argue much, regarding our facilities but, it sounds more like a load of excuses not to support their team, which is a pity.

Maybe they are worried about getting beaten

Yes, I'm not taking it too seriously Poptart. I've been to Widnes since the 70's and it has rarely provided me with much aesthetic pleasure, just skilled me up on how to minimise the risk of getting a half brick on my lap whilst travelling on the speccie coach (the tip is ALWAYS pick a seat that isn't on the pavement side).

Some of the comments make me laugh, particularly the gloating on ground improvements which (as some posters recognise) was as much to do with the willingness of Halton Council to support the improvements as it was the skilful financial guile of the Vikings Management Team. If Widnes RLFC had been playing in the Wakefield District, they would have still been enjoying the concrete bunker admission huts of Naughton Park and the rat-run ginnels around the ground which were most loved by the local scouse youth. That is a fact.

No, good luck to them, but for them to look down on us like they are Brisbane Broncos beggars belief. They do seem to have short memories but that's probably due to the chemical works at Ellesmere Port.

All joking aside, I hope for a good game on Sunday with piece and harmony on the terraces and 2 points in our back pockets to take over the common in a fortnight.

They're right what they say we all know BV is a dump but there's never many of them to moan anyway. Nobody needs to tell about the state of BV its restricted our great club for years.

I agree. Short memories. The old ground wasn't great.
Some of them are sensible.
But right now I'm happy for them to win the stadium competition as long as we win the game.

Not once, did any of these comments mention the fact that 2 of the super league stadiums also host football matches for teams who have recently been in the premiership, where the facilities do tend to be better overall anyway.

We have lawn mowers at our ground, they dont :D

The grounds like Wigan and Hull for example are the tenants much like us however in their cases the football club decide if the ground is available. This is why Wigan and Huddersfield must play part of the summer either away or a neutral ground whilst the football club reseed the playing surface for the start of their season.
