Poor injury record, rumours he has a poor attitude, strong carry but lazy in defence and 33 years old. Powell will know him inside out though so if he comes I’m sure it will be of benefit to the squad.

A slacking of the rules regarding overseas players work visa’s is imminent , so that players who are aged 24 or under and have played in the NSW or Queensland cup can obtain a visa to play in the uk ,also cover Fiji, Papuan New Guinea ,Samoa and Tonga players

Think we are going a bit over the top with forwards ,there are other positions on the park ,and with the last injury leaves us a bit weak in the back 7

We lack depth the most at full back, prop and second row. There’s been countless discussions on this with team line up and we all know where investment is needed.

We are certainly not going over the top with targeting more signings in the forwards. The coach has also said as much.

And there are some good young players who show promise. Judah Rimbu for example is like a young Ipape and featured for PNG.

Aaron Pene - Melbourne storm prop who played 8 games in 2023 is being shopped to SL and Championship sides.

Wonder if he will be of interest.

We have over the years picked a few good players from NRL fringes. I suppose if anything it shows players will become available over the season from all areas.
