I don't think we're being greedy at wanting another prop! From last season we've lost Scruton and Anerson - both first choice props and replaced them with Hirst, who is untried at SL level (although if he's good enough for John Kear he's good enough for me) but that still leaves us at least one prop less than last season and don't lets forget our pack was beaten by bigger packs more than once last season. Backs perform better behind a good strong pack. At the moment we probably have one of the weakest packs in SL - just my opinion!
Is Walker not a prop? They must think he's up to the job or why sign him and keep him?
Remember most of last year he was out injured rather than not being picked. Personally don't know if he's any good but I do know he is a prop
I think all fans but especially Trinity fans get obsessed by signings whilst ignoring what we have. There is no reason Walker won't step up and play his part and reach his potential - a lot can change from one season to the next and a non descript player can suddenly find a run of form - you have to have faith in the coach on that one.

I agree with you here Trinity 1315, regarding another prop.
I am sure I read on here, someone said another 2 props, don't think this is a bad shout either. In doing this, we are improving the depth, and possibly improving on the quality of the back up as well. On tope of this we have Arona and Simon, who could do a more than capable stint in the back row, and could answer our question in looking for a back rower.
Regarding back rowers, Kirmo was in the gym earlier in the week doing pre season with rest of squad, and didn't look affected by recent injuries.

Fifita was sgned to cover the loss of players, he was not added to the prop count. We had lost Scruton (Mentally) England for season, Anderson was out for large chunks, Walker injured, Annakin injured. If anything we are better off at prop than last year IMO.

See that Ryan Hampshire has signed for Leigh. Drat and double drat, was really hoping we would get him as I think he would add that bit of real quality. Leigh are certainly not going to die wondering.
Mmm, could that be because Leigh were willing to pay him what he was worth, whereas Wakefield wanted him on the cheap.

Correct but some just won't accept it, signing becomes the be all and end all rather than developing. Nor do they take into account the spiraling costs.
I thought that by finishing in the eight we could use this to finalise and improve the squad long before the training started. I believe we have now started training and are still uncertain what the final squad will be. I would also point out that when the 5 NEW signings were mentioned by MC it was indicated that these were in addition to Caton-Brown, Hirst and Grix. I also think the suggestion that we should consider Fafita a new signing is stretching the term a little far. If that was the case we should include all the existing squad that have signed new contracts and the two young lads obtaining their first full time contract. That would mean we have made 12 new signings which can only bode well for next season.
Absolute garbage even for you - you seem to be the only poster on here that managed to reach that conclusion. You really do have an agenda don't you.

Is this a permanent signing or a loan?
In which case did Wane have a big say?
Personally I rate the kid though he's yet to really show it if we are honest. Much as I like signing local boys he didn't actually want to sign for us as a youngster - cuts both ways. You know the history better than most and it's not been straight forward. To me Williams looks a safer bet for now and the worst thing in my mind is playing Hampshire at 9 which IMHO would ruin him but with the Moore situation is where he'd end up.
Whilst I agree that its great to have a largely settled squad and that we have been looking to recruit in the region of 5 players I don't really see how we expect to compete week in week out without a couple more signings.
Grix won't e in starting team, canon brown may be as a replacement for Lynne, The pack more often than not is the one that was getting outmuscled week in week out - Hirst in, Fafita played virtually all the post top 8 games, moored gone who when on the field was probably one of our best players, yes englands back but we will get injuries through the season.
So lets hope we are going to sign a good hooker and then possibly a couple more forwards possibly as the season goes on and players expectations reduce.
