Some of this is just disrespectful to the people who have worked hard with no guarantees of anything for the club and certainly nothing for themselves. Why some people feel the need to rub there noses in it for no reason (not even adding to the topic) just for the sake of it. Nobody told Snowie all his hard work, time and effort was pointless did they? Anybody who has ever or continues to put effort and time into this club deserves respect, especially from the ones who do nothing. Even though it is unlikely the club will treat you any better for it.

The chances of Trinity winning Superleague in the next 10 years are pretty remote but the chances of them playing in a new stadium in the next 10 years are about as likely as me being crowned King when Liz dies. The club has no money, the council has no money and in the current financial climate there is no one who can afford to give us any money and if Newmarket turned out anything like the AJ Bell stadium half full soulless the and gridlocked I would rather stay in the old girl. So the only pressing problem I see is we don't own Belle vue. That needs sorting soon.

OK then, lets do something about it.

Is the Supporters Trust allowed to own land? If so, we will need to have 2000 people investing £1000 into the ST to raise £2million to purchase the ground and its environs. Of course that could include 100 people investing in 10 units of £1000 each for the first million.

This isn't a charitable donation but a business investment. The club pays a hefty rent to the bank at the moment and could pay a sensible rental to the Supporters Trust which would generate an income to start to repay these investments on demand after, say, 5 years until over time the ground is owned by the Supporters Trust by redeeming each unit for 1/2000th of the asset's value at that time.

If we ever want to be a big club, we need to think much bigger than how little can we pay for our season tickets. Many people cannot afford £1000 but equally, many could afford to invest in many units of £1000.

If Newmarket ever does come to fruition, in whatever guise, we would have started to take some meaningful steps towards making a contribution to the process and also given the Supporters Trust a massive boost by creating a hugely important role for it.

That's a great idea, but the numbers of fans willing to part with that kind of cash just aren't there. If things proceed as they are currently, there should be no need for this. Park it for now, but we may come back to it later! There are also complications regarding shares, ownership and prospectus - we've tried similar before - so its a bit more complicated than it sounds.

I am willing to meet and discuss the situation with anyone who wishes to explain what I can, but I will not compromise our position for the sake of being looked upon in a better style by those who no longer believe me.

It does seem as though I am being criticised for not saying enough, but I think I say more than most and do try to keep moral up. It is hard, for you, for me, but we cannot afford to let this slip by without giving it everything we've got.

Thank you to those with positive comments, for the rest, I understand, but can do nothing except ask for yet more patience!

I think the supporters trust raising £2 million is a tall order but I'd certainly like to see the trust get behind some kind of fund raising initiative.

I beleive the membership is around the 250 mark so lots more members would be required to something meaningful. A fundraising cause where your donation gives you a ST Membership would help increase the numbers and might help catch the imagination of those normally too lethargic to join.

How about raising money to pay for a mini bus to be used by the community team and the scholarship coaches. A 20 seater purchased in partnership with a sponsor requiring the ST to raise £10,000 matched by the sponsor and bought via the Community Trust.

We could have a Blue Peter style total meter that shows how far or close we are to achieving the goal and tracking progress towards the amount required.

We have about 4000 people who watch Wakefield on a semi regular basis an that number would increase to 24000 "diehards" if we went to Wembley. Clearly only a proportion of the regulars could afford to invest but there are many people in Wakefield with considerable wealth who might appreciate this opportunity to help the city to secure the future of its lifeblood.

Re: The City of Wakefield Community Stadium : Mon Dec 08, 2014 11:47 am
Example

18 seater brand new for £25,702 + VAT
being VAT registered eliminates that
Being a Community Trust may well allow us to tap into a grant of some type
Sponsor pays half
Discount from the retailer in turn for some exposure on the side of the bus
Leaving around £10K to £12K for the ST to raise

18 Seater Brand New
http://www.minibus.ltd.uk/minibus-sales ... tml?v=1727

19 Seater Used
http://www.ukminicoaches.co.uk/cars/mer ... sic/8867/0

Once purchased get it wrapped in Club colours and people can see it travelling all over the City like a big Wakefield Trinity Advert raising awareness of the Club. Take to the precinct with Daddy Cool and the Cheer leaders to promote tickets, merchandise special games or whatever.

If things go superbly well we can put some of the money into a Community Trust account for servicing and repairs etc or maybe even carry on raising money and buy 2 Mini Coaches

I'm sure other Supporters Trusts or fans groups have done this before so there may well be a mechanism for making this happen efficiently already in existence.
