| Quote braytontiger="braytontiger"a question id be wanting to know would be if the club has got its self into this position despite selling its assets and reducing the wage bill no end how can it afford to continue and continue has a viable business, imo it cant.
the rfl can see this and will also use this as a valid reason for saying wtw cannot function has a full time club.it all looks to be coming to a sorry end and i hope you find investment from somewhere but nobody would invest in something thats going out of business when it can be bought for next to nothing in the near future.
its all very sad tbh'"
It's hard to disagree with that. I think the writing's on the wall as far as our immediate SL future is concerned. I just hope that's where the damage stops.

| I think everyone has underestimated the damage that licencing can do to those clubs that are in the firing line.
As was shown last night two investors have pulled out at the eleventh hour because of the uncertainty surrounding the clubs SL status.
That will have been repeated accross all aspects of the club including sponsorship, hospitality, player and staff recruitment the net result being an almost irreversable undermining of the clubs stability just when it needed to be at its most secure.
The RFL will know this but it suits them for it to happen.

Very hard to disagree.
Would also like re-clariyfying what monies were received for the ground and where that has gone. Was it 50% taken to assist with the debts. So where is the other 50%,
Also the quote from the web-site re; stadium funding clarification 16/12 from Diane 'I am pleased to confirm that the Wakefield and District Community Trust, formed by Sir Rodney Walker in 2008, has already been able to utilise some of this funding source which was first made available by Wakefield Council in 2009'.
What amount of funding has been utilised ?

The call in notice, they have determined exactly what they "wish to be informed about for the purposes of his consideration of the application" and in a nutshell it is - does if meet the core strategy in the LDF, is it consistent with government planning policy on sustainability, green-belt, urban regeneration, biodiversity and transport (but it's location and accessibility to reduce car use, not HGV traffic access) and finally recreation space development.
It is the issues that we all knew remained valid objections, which was policy and greenbelt points, but I still think that the majority are met but his opinion is the one that counts.
The recent policy change on car parking spaces to domestic development is sending a new signal about what the Tories (sorry Coalition! ) think of that and similar policy so it comes down to green-belt (specifically countryside encroachment) and biodiversity issues.
The issue that concerns me is that he will reduce the B8 to just the 33 ha which is a 35% reduction and then even though I think he will pass the stadium and sports facilities, will they actual get built if they don't get the full 50 ha for B8?

Last time Trinity were at Wembley, you had Mike Lampkowski at scrum half. Your opponents Widnes had GB RL legend Vinty Karalius coaching. If your memory doesn't go back that far, you might like to think about where names like Kris Radlinski, John Stankevitch or Ikram Butt come from.

I think you're absolutely right, but I can't see there being much sympathy for that view from the Championship clubs that have been living with that reality for a number of years now, while we've been dining at the top table.

The RFL are probably no worse than most other large governing bodies in that respect. OK, they have the smallest membership of all the other major sports, but in terms of satisfying the personal ambitions of those who run the show, they're no worse than the FA, the RFU, FIFA, UEFA.... They turn in a profit, though, so they must be doing a good job. My

| The immigration point is irrelevant to the issue. I've seen immigration blamed for some things in my time, but Trin's plight is a new one on me. It's because we are performing not very well in a decrepit stadium that costs a fortune to enter.

| Quote rugbyball="rugbyball"Wrong again, I am quite happy posting under the rugbyball screen name, stop being so paranoid. It could be amberbelly or what ever his name was I can assure you its not me. Get a mod to check if you like.
I was not going to comment but just to make a distinction for the purpose of clarification. I am with you on the fact that house prices and other complaints of some of the locals will not get a look in at the PI , they will be more interested in planning law, particularly the areas they have asked for clarification on. The fact is at the moment the scheme does not stack up with current legislation, and the enquiry will be to determined if it the project carries enough positives to allow for departure from these laws.'"
Rugbyball - I apologise if indeed I am mistaken (but he does have a similar posting style to you and spells inquiry as enquiry... I know I am being a pedent about this but I don't care! ). If true, I take it back... I am not being paranoid, you mistake me with others!
I am interested why you still don't think it stacks up though... the one issue the PI and delay has done has brought the site specfic LDF into play and therefore 65% of the B8 is going to stack. I think the longer this takes the better it becomes (which is ironic in some ways) for this getting through the PI. The recent policy change on car parking spaces and a move towards greener car options by the Government is huge shift in thinking and only strengthens one of Newmarket's weaker points in policy.
