Regardless of whether the try is good or not he needs to learn to control his emotions about it. It's only going one way if you start reacting to it.

He didn’t get binned for his reaction though it appears. Powell said he scored a try and ref thought Bain had kicked it away so binned him. That came from Powell not me.

Had the try been given (which Powell said he believed was a try) then would Bain have got binned?

If it transpires he didn’t score the try and did kick the ball etc and got binned or got binned for appealing to the ref then that’s fine but from the post match interview it doesn’t appear to be the case.

I do have one other issue… if Bain did appeal to the ref then why was he instantly binned. Take Momorovski in the Leeds game who swore at the ref and argued not once but a few times with the ref and still didn’t get binned. It’s not very consistent at all.

Maybe this wouldn’t be an issue if there were in goal judges though. I believe there was another try Whitehaven scored which was given as held up but pictures circulating looks like a try. It’s not great really.

Agree about controlling emotions but it was also a crucial score in a tight game too and it’s hard to do if a player feels very strongly he’s scored. Hopefully all this won’t be an issue if we are back in SL and games are televised. How many times in a game do we see players run to ref and appeal for things including try’s or that a players held up.

Kicking the ball away in frustration IS a reaction.
I'm not saying it's a good decision but why give then an excuse.

But that’s my point Powell said in his interview he didn’t kick the ball away.

And how many player throw the ball into the crowd or kick the ball into the crowd after scoring a try to celebrate (which he thought).

Will be interesting to see on the game replay.

It can't be both. He either did it or not.

I never said it was both. That’s not possible.

Powell said he didn’t kick the ball. I didn’t see him kick a ball live either and I am interested to see the game back to see what happened more out of curiosity. Luckily it wasn’t costly.

I think he was sin binned for dissent, i.e. "the offence of disagreeing with a decision made by the referee" after the ref. made the decision not to award the try by Bain

I’m just going off what The Powell said unless he’s got it wrong but I assume he would know.

The dissent could be because Bain was accused of throwing the ball away after what he feels was a try (and sounded it hearing live commentary). In effect that could be 2 x errors by officials which would be very poor.

It won’t change anything but I will be interested to pay it attention on the replay.

It could be it wasn’t a try and he did throw the ball away but indicators are that it was a bizarre decision (according to the radio replay)

Hopefully, most Tuesday evenings I watch the replay and put the feet up.

As for Rodwell, thought he was a big miss vs Widnes but I think we lacked that punch from the bench with Uele starting.

Think I’d have Uele on bench vs Fax for that big impact. I wouldn’t mind seeing Shaw get a run as interchange prop or Boothroyd if fit vs Fax and Bain going to 13 in place of Kay on bench who had a bit of a mare.

As I think, I remember it (gray cells and old age) Bain covered quite a distance to "talk" to the ref and was then carded.
The incident itself, I don't recall him kicking it, but the ball seemed to squirt up after touch down, no idea if it was a try or not, just too far away.
