Why would people like that (all have proven track records in their respective fields) buy a club and then not put money in?
I think some people, myself included, have been a bit harsh on Ted over the years in some respects. Putting money in being a principle one. If Ted had the money I'm sure he would have invested it, he loves WT as much as any on here. But the truth is he doesn't have the money, and has been in financial decline for some time. Yet he still put in what he could and made the best of the situation- from his point of view. Whether or not it was right for the club and should he have stepped aside earlier are separate issues. I honestly believe Ted did what he thought was best for the club and has endangered his own financial health in process.
However Ted is almost history, I have no doubt the new boss/bosses will want success and that will require funding.
As if anyone would buy the club to sit on it as it is. In decline and shaken at best. What sort of an investment would that be. That approach doesn't sit with any of the mentioned businessmen.
I was as much questioning your certainty that the 'dream BoD' you name would take over when it seems to be based on wishful thinking and assumptions over the intent of people who, quite frankly, I don't think you actually know.
"Therefore, surely nothing in life is to be feared, only understood. Apart from getting shanked at the cash machine!"
I love this city, this is my town. We get a week out, without a doubt, gunna sing it out loud. i love my city this is my town, we get a week out, without a doubt, gunna sing it out loud
I know as much as anyone else on here. Which is squat. All I was saying was I hoped the people mentioned would take over.
I was hardly certain on anything as I said "Personally I will live in hope and keep the beers cold, as this could come through any day now......." Live in hope hardly implies that I think these people in particular are hardly nailed on, they've just been mentioned- by more than a couple of people I may add. But I stand by my statement of this/something similar happening in the next few days, as frankly if it doesn't I can't see how we would survive the court hearing on the 22nd.
It's an opinion and a personal interpretation, that's all. Your entitled to one too you know!
I wasn't trying to get shirty, or pour cold water on the hopes and dreams of anyone. What I do express is caution over getting too excited over people with prior connections to Wakey stepping up with wads of cash to chuck at the club. From the little I do know I don't see that, and the lot more I have heard on here, I'm doubtful. If anyone knows for certain things that challenge that view, I'll gladly stand corrected.
As TRB says nobody knows, not even his old team mates ... Ian Brooke saw him on his mower a while back so stopped his car, got out an shouted to him. Apparently Derek looked up and shouted 'Eyup Brookey' and then just continued his mowing!

Beleive it or not, some people have a life away from Wakefield Trinity.
Anybody know if there are actually any interested parties still involved in discussions at taking over the club?
Not heard anything since they initially announced they were in discussions, and I would have thought that if at all possible, they would be looking for the investment (if there is going to be any) to be announced before the winding up petition is heard?
Have the club actually confirmed that they are in discussions with these 'moneyed' (don't think that's an actual word) people? There has been plenty of speculation on here and if all these were true, we'd be well set. However, the club would still be talking to them at Xmas with the long list of suitors willing to throw money at us.
