No not at all .. and i suppose when it comes to it ,as a family we will all be there cheering on whoever's wearing the shirt . But do i want to see Mr.Cooke as a "role model" for my son , god no .
Obviously we all know of players in the squad who have done things wrong(Latu etc) , but i don't think there's anything to be gained on or off the field by signing PC . Like i say...- hope he ends up in Wales
think half the squad member can have a devil may care attitude and wouldn't be a role model for any youngster if they saw the other side away from rugby, but what about the skills on the pitch Cooke is a very good tactical player as he proved before the win two seasons ago in Cardiff when KR beat Hull, I'm of the same opinion but not the same reason as you I don't think he is fit enough anymore to command the pitch like he did

I'm just reading Sean Long's book the moment and it's much as i'd expect - but in my opinion PC's behaviour in the past goes way past some of the stories you hear when players are out on the lash .
On the field , he seems to play well but only once in a while (2 years ago in Cardiff!), but for someone who plays for the club he loves - he looks well overweight , been suspended and generally out of sorts . Think we should stay well clear IMO.

One of my work colleagues played for rovers a "few" times and still has strong links with the club, he reckons rovers would be better off shut of him, but would be gutted for us of he came as he is not a grafter and would not fit in with our work ethic. Which to me says a lot about us and no much about him!

What about Richard Moore

Bad boy, disruptive, bad attitude, drinker, fighter, poor trainer
Came to wakefield .... last chance saloon.... who'd have thought he'd have turned out like he has - i wouldn't have.

Simiair brush could be levelled at Newton.. but we just have to wait and see on him... although Terrys just a bit of a nut job (probably trains his nuts off)

One thing is for certain as for natural talent Paul Cooke is streets ahead as a footballer above most of his peers at 6 & 13 superb hands (particularily range of passing), kicking game and a good organiser... we be idiots not to look at him if he became available.

IMO

Please confirm that your assertion is not based on the 'story' on page 11 of this weeks RLE,which mentions Francis Cummins being tipped to become England assistant to John Kear.

Hadn't read that at the time.

I have read it now - and I know nothing about any move by John Kear and, like the rest of us, I will be a little nervous until somebody has that job!

I'm not saying it's happening or not. I'm applauding that Criggcat is talking a bit of sense.

Paul Cooke has it all on a rugby field. Just a bit daft off it. But i'm sure JK could get him sorted out.
