Don’t think anyone talks about Widnes anymore full stop.

Nothing wrong with pitch that some sun on its back won’t sort out .

Both Luppy and Klav make fair points. However having a decent pitch and the money it will make will look like peanuts if we are in the championship with no SL funding.
There is a very strong possibility we could get relegated this season and if so, its highly likely Fev will take our place. They wont give two hoots about playing on a rubbish sloping mud bath and would have the last laugh at us with our fancy pitch.

There’s been a strong possibility for most of our super league existence , if you listen to the pundits ,jeez it’s one game get a grip man

I have a perfect grip, we are playing Russian Roulette with relegation again. One day we will get the bullet and I am fed up of this season after season. We are in touching distance of better things, it is a shame we are putting it all at risk due to the lowest level of funding in SL .
I am with you in hoping this is a one game blip and there is more to come, but I do not have your confidence but we both have a right to our respective opinions.

To be fair PB, in the great new world of IMG, if we are making ourselves a better club rather than focusing on not being the worst team, the future should reflect well in that context. Spunking £500k in one season on the squad is short termest, regardless of much fun it could be, however there are no guarantees of a good season on the back of that.

The problem is that it is not this season when the world of IMG decides a club’s future. The question is are we better to be in SL or the Championship when the ratings are finalised because the initial review will start with the existing 12 SL teams followed by the rest.

As ever it's not an easy decision to make, and because we were so poor last season, it meant we we're at the back of the queue yet again when it comes to signings. Would that £500k have bought us the quality we need, or would we be paying over the odds for players no better than what we have. It's a predicament and if we all had a crystal ball we'd know which is the best way forward.

The pitch, compared to the farmers field at Fev, may well have helped entice Wavefield AFC to move to BV and it was supposed to allow BV to be used for other "events".
Hopefully the benefits will come.
Could the money have actually been used on squad strengthening anyway or, was it "ring fenced" for the ground upgrade.

Likely to have been capital expenditure rather than revenue.
