I agree with you in part Rach, but then I don't begrudge players getting a decent wage. I would imagine that some of the team are on decent contracts over and above winning pay, and again that's fair enough. What I expect in return is real commitment and that starts on the training field. All these problems we are seeing should have been ironed out and we should have a plan with multi options on how to break the opposition down. We had plenty of time to prepare for Dewsbury.
It's not even that the players didn't put in effort, many of them did, but bad passes, fumbled ball and stupid careless penalties ruined any flow we had and gave them good field position.
Maybe the players are as frustrated and furious as I am, I just can't remember being as peed off in a long time.
What Batley did was wrong and they should have been deducted points, but we have had plenty of chances to make ourselves safe. Some of our past players and coaches will be baffled and incredulous. This is not an indictment of Marchy, but could you imagine the dressing room at half time with JD or especially Peter Roe? I remember watching a game against Doncaster in which they thrashed us 20 nil in the first half. After a half time "talk" from Peter psycho smashing chairs fist through doors Roe, we came out like our lives depended on it and murdered them. Admittedly coaches can't do that often but there needs to be something that gets the passion and adrenalin flowing.
Fev need the win on Sunday and if we continue to play like we have they will be out of sight in the first half. The only way we are stopping up now is if Batley or Whitehaven loose badly, which is possible.
Signed
Very peed off.
