I thought Sturridge's performance today was a snapshot of his career to date. Ignoring the tap in De Gea gave him, he looked dangerous, got in some good positions and has plenty of pace and a decent touch. But his end product was non existent, wasting several chances and worse than that getting none of them on target. There are few things more frustrating than watching a team mate shoot for the near post when its covered by the keeper and miss into the side netting when it should have gone across goal.

Suarez is among the most wasteful players, simply because he takes the most shots. But he's also at the top of the goal charts.

I'll tell you what's more frustrating that a player missing. A player who is so scared of missing that he hides. That's why I'd have got rid of Torres and kept Sturridge.

There's also the fact that Sturridge has barely played this season. He's playing his second game for LFC, and he's sat on the bench. But that's 1 and a bit games for the scousers, 2 goals. Good work CFC, you ******* *****!

Liverpool. Why the ####, when they were dominating, was their most influential player (Gerrard) sat in their back four, when he should be affecting what happens 50 yards further up the field. They should have got something from today.

Think that was more to do with Fergie bringing on Jones to push him back rather than a conscious decision by Liverpool.

The City game was terrible, completely ruined as a viewing spectacle by the early sending off. I'm not saying it wasn't a penalty, but the lack of consistency is amazing. Worse things happen almost every time Everton have a corner and defenders are pretty much allowed to man handle attackers from crosses seemingly unless the attackers play for Man City.

The grabbing of oppo players at corners is a joke.

But it's 6 of 1, half a dozen of the other and they are all at it.

But this was different. It was a ball falling down towards Dzeko who was 7 yards out. It was a clear and blatant goalscoring opportunity. The Arsenal player should have moved over and tried to cover the shot. Instead he rugby tackles him.

The red card is 100% correct.

Arsenal - "You cant buy class" - but you can send in the stewards to confiscate a couple of inoffensive banners complaining about ticket prices.

I thought that at the time, but surely not? That would be worse than any badge kissing celebration.

Modric was a class player in an otherwise fairly ordinary THFC team ...

Drogbas first season at CFC from Marseilles was very ordinary by his standards and it took him a season to find his feet in the Premiership - I reckon Modric will come good but maybe the coach needs to use him more intelligently ?

So if you know that it can take players time to settle and for coaches to get used to the player, why do you seek some sort of confirmation from Liverpool fans that Sahin is crap? As I said, he was voted the best player in the Bundesliga in his final season, he was very good that season (I did watch him, Mark, and I also watched him for Feyenoord) and earned himself a move to Real Madrid. He struggled to crack the first team (who wouldn't with Xabi Alonso there? Remember when people used to say Carrick was better than Alonso?), but he is still a fantastically gifted player. I wish he was given more of a chance in the role that Gerrard is given.
