I thought Sturridge's performance today was a snapshot of his career to date. Ignoring the tap in De Gea gave him, he looked dangerous, got in some good positions and has plenty of pace and a decent touch. But his end product was non existent, wasting several chances and worse than that getting none of them on target. There are few things more frustrating than watching a team mate shoot for the near post when its covered by the keeper and miss into the side netting when it should have gone across goal.
Suarez is among the most wasteful players, simply because he takes the most shots. But he's also at the top of the goal charts.
I'll tell you what's more frustrating that a player missing. A player who is so scared of missing that he hides. That's why I'd have got rid of Torres and kept Sturridge.
There's also the fact that Sturridge has barely played this season. He's playing his second game for LFC, and he's sat on the bench. But that's 1 and a bit games for the scousers, 2 goals. Good work CFC, you ******* *****!
