TBF Chelsea have quite a significant history. Your response was that of a typical plastic. For some rerason, the more plastic Liverpool fans, appear to throw this 'insult' at Chelsea. It's like a self-perpetuating myth amongst that group of supporters.

If a team is less successful than Liverpool, does that mean they have no history?

With reference to financial backing: Would Liverpool have had so much success in the late 70s and 80's without the financial backing the club received? Don't try to make out that Liverpool are, and always have been, self-financed.

I DID NOT HAVE SEX WITH THAT WOMAN..............BILL CLINTON (PRESIDENT OF THE U.S.A).

OUR STADIUM WILL BE READY FOR THE 2010 SEASON................JOHN WILKINSON (SALFORD CHAIRMAN).

liverpools spending in the late 70's early 80's was a fraction of what citeh spent on the likes of steve daley etc etc etc. and all citeh got for all their cash was an fa cup final defeat by spurs..................

City did spend/waste a lot. My point didn't relate to City. We were discussing Chelsea (and I don't want to spend much time defending another club). It's proved to be almost impossible to have success in the last 30 years or so without significant financial backing. There are few exceptions. I referred to the fact that Liverpool, to a degree, bought their success. Let's face it, Liverpool's key players from that era, were all brought in from other clubs. Not all of them were bought for sky-high transfer fees, but the LFC certainly spent more than most. Chelsea have spent a significant amount on fees and wages but the two best, and key, players are Lampard and Terry. Terry was a youth player and Lmapard was purchased for something like £10m.

Rattled are you?

rattled are you pal???? the one thing that the russian gangster can't buy is history, face it liverpool are a massive club who are reknowned all over the world. and that is without having to buy a place in the higher echelons of world football.

The things is, Abramovich has bought Chelsea the best part of our history. He's bought Chelsea, so far, a 5 year period of winning silverware and being one of the highest performing clubs in Europe.

Your yank owners can't buy history. All they've bought is the hatred of your supporters.

Liverpool are a massive club in some ways. They have had massive success in certain parts of their history. They do have a massive reputation because of that. But even with all that, your present stadium capacity and average gate is only slightly higher than Chelsea's. If you want massive, and it's obvious that you do, then you must feel pretty pathetic when you compare your club with Manchester United?

As for your "world renown" (learn you spell, you ignorant scouse ****), big deal. Liverpool will be well *supported* in other parts of the world but IMO the support of people in other parts of the world is tenuous anyway. Chelsea will have gained a lot of support because of their two Premier League wins and long CL campaigns, but that support is worth very little because 1)It's difficult to turn into financial benefits and 2) The support is so fickle. One year they'll like Chelsea and the next they'll like Man United because of their title wins. Then they'll get bored with that and decide to support Arsenal because they've heard so much about the beautiful football they play. Then they'll support Liverpool again because they like Torres so much. Really, who gives a **** who these people prefer?

You can spell but you make just as much sense, even with your 'perfect' vocabulary.
