I've said it before. I'll say it again. Getting rid of Jose Mourinho was the dumbest decision ever made in world football.
We've just been knocked out of the Champions League, our focus is said to now move to the PL. We go a goal up after 6 minutes and are the clearly better side in the first half. We never really look like adding to our advantage though.
Blackburn are the better side in the second half, and create some problems for us. Then, after 70, they get an equaliser.
20 minutes to really show that we really want to be champions. 20 minutes to put Tuesday behind us. So we bring on Deco for Kalou. Meh. Then, on
90 minutes we bring on Sturridge. What is the Fing point in bringing on a striker on 90 minutes??? We should have gone for it after 70 minutes, but instead we meekly went home with the one point.
2 massively important games where Ancelloti shows absolutely no idea or ability to drive us anywhere. On Tuesday, with his side in the ascendancy, Mourinho was barking orders to practically every single player if they made the slightest mistake. It was a matter of life and death for Mourinho. Ancelloti just stands on the sideline looking gormless. No communication with the poorly performing team. No bold subs to change the game. Nothing, just nothing there in the last 20 minutes to suggest any of our players wants to take the title.
This should have been our title. We had the position to win this title. We have the players to win this title. But judging on those last 20 minutes there's absolutely no chance on earth that we'll win the league.
Drawing at Blackburn is forgivable. I don't blame either Ferreira or Turnbull for Blackburn's goal. It was a beautifully struck cross and a well won and placed header. What is unforgivable is the lacklustre response from the team and the lack of response from Ancelloti.
Anyone can win the title with the squad Roman's built, eh Bobby Campbell?
