Haye's toe looked disgusting and now he's saying he was thinking about pulling out because of it!
Not much of an excuse though because it wasn't even his big toe so wouldn't have effected him like he was saying.
The toe looked sore and no doubt it had an effect.
But can you imagine if at the end of a superleague game the players cued up to show the cameras a list of their injuries??? TV channels would need to extend their time by a hell of a lot.
Some of the comment on here are laughable, I've some more embarrassing ones on Facebook too. Haye's now confirmed as shit because he lost, deary me, typical of the British attitude. I think we all know there was only one winner of the fight, Klitschko dominated, as always, with the jab, at least he had to work harder than usual, and Haye just couldn't get behind it. He tried but the height and reach advatage of Klitschko was too much. Tactically they were better than Haye's camp but there's no doubt a broken toe had some impact, it was clearly not right and from the way Haye wanted to box and force himself at Klitschko and unleash his shots but there's noway he could, it'd be near impossible to launch off his right foot with that injury.
Haye's proved himself at both cruiserweight and heavyweight now, it would've been brilliant to see him win tonight, there's no doubting he's a top class boxer but tonight he was outclassed and outboxed by an even better fighter. Comments about Haye going to the floor to easy, I'd like to see you throw yourself at someone who's two stone heavier and much bigger than you and try and stay up when they force their weight down one your neck.
The referee was a disgrace, far too slow breaking up holding and that count he gave Haye was a farce. You can't count someone out when they've been pushed to the floor yet he did. Pathetic.
Klitschko deserves a lot of credit for the way he boxed, the way he controlled and dominated the fight, he was by far the better boxer on the night. I'd still love Haye and Vitali to go at it but I doubt that'll happen now.
Haye's toe probably played a part. Wish he'd not bring it up though. The referee was nowehere near as bad as the one for Hatton Mayweather, not by a long way. Didn't like Haye's body language, he didn't look like a man who could win, when I genuinely thought he had the tools to do so. Klitschko is still a boring, efficient fighter, and were Haye his size he would take him out IMHO. But please stop complaining and come back once that toe's fixed and slot someone if you're so good!
Talked a good fight but couldn't produce it, what a gob s***e!
Was an embarrassing performance, how did he have the cheek to raise his hand after the final round I will never know, yet another brit who promised alot but failed miserably!
I don't think it will be easy for Klitschko, but logic does indicate that the Ukranian should win.....He has all the physical advantages and as the saying goes, '....a good big 'un will always beat a good little 'un...'
.....However, there are still serious doubts that Klitschko is a 'good 'un'....Yes, he is a big unit, who for the most part, in recent years, as made easy work of his opponents, but the level of those opponents have to be seriously questioned.
The one thing that Haye has to do is to pressure Klitschko into a zone which he has not encountered for years....He has to use his speed advantage and make his opponent 'chase' him and leave him open for the fight-finishing counter shot, which is Haye's only realistic chance of winning.
Overall, my head says Klitschko, either by a dour points win or by Haye walking onto one, but my patriotic heart says that Haye will KO Wlad late on as the big guy tires and his chin becomes more exposed to the counter.
I think I got it pretty spot on....
The main problem I have with Haye is that for a so-called 'legacy' fight, he didn't put enough of himself on the line....Most disappointing was that at the end he seemed proud of himself because he took a few shots to the chin and stayed on his feet!!
As I had a feeling that it might, it all turned into a bit of an anti climax....Klitschko is still too cautious a fighter to ever be taken seriously as a Heavyweight champion. The first sign of any flak coming his way and his chin pulled back and his wrestling tactics take over.
Sadly, unless Haye delays his retirement, this result could be the final nail in the Heavyweight coffin....There is nobody out there to challenge the 2 Ukranians and unless it changes dramatically these 2 boring robots could go on for years.
haye could talk the talk but couldnt walk the walk, then he comes out with the broken toe excuse
wlad was too good for him, shows why he has been unbeaten for so long!
haye is a cruiserweight and like wlad said a nobody in the heavyweight division.
booth was just as embarrasing, got the tactics wrong, haye couldnt get around the jab. then to slag of the ref was stupid, the ref was fine, he even deducted a point off wlad ! haye deserved to be given a knockdown the amount of times he went down like an italian footballer.
Too big, too clever, too much reach. Was like watching the playground bully fighting a kid he can keep at arms length. Thought Haye could do it, but as soon as Vlad made the ring his own and was getting Haye where he wanted him there wasn't much doubt about who would win.
