It's a trial. I'd say that there's a 5% chance that Vieri will be able to convert that trial into anything with Blackburn. But I think Allardyce is 100% correct to allow Vieri to have that trial. He's a very well known ex-Italian international. At the very least he'll be an interesting guy to mix in with the squad.

I think it's a Fantastic signing for both parties involved, Dismiss his Injury troubles (Although on paper it is hard to ignore) and you have a top quality Goalscorer there on a Free Transfer on i'd imagine £40/50,000 a week, It is a masterstroke by Ferguson IMO...

Heard his wages are going to be closer too £20k p/w with bonuses on top, if we can keep him fit i could see him becoming a regular with him and Berba up front with Rooney given a freerole. Although i think the Left side still needs work as i'm not sure Tosic is ready yet and Nani would have to improve massivley on last season as he was just awful. I'm hoping Pretucci pushes through next season as from what i've seen him he looks like he could become something special in midfield.

£17m on Hargreaves, a player with chronic injuries.

Absolutely delighted Tevez and Barry have/will go to City, I've seen nothing concrete to show they were our two main targets, but I'll take your word as you only deal with the 'facts'

In October when both Wes and Glen Johnson were fit, Brown was starting....just dealing with the FACTS, now Wes has been injured Johnson has had his chance. With regards to the transfers, it's very easily done. Tevez and his advisor admitted firm interest from Liverpool but Tevez came out and said he wouldn't sign and you know full well that Barry was a target, keep putting smileys in your posts and denying it though. Interesting that alot of match going LFC fans are fuming with Owen signing for us, although some choose to deny it, I'm sure we will see the true reaction on October 24th.      Just for you.

Let's see all the posters backtrack now that Owen has signed for a team, in which most of its fans on here, were people who have slagged him off last season.

Personally I think the Owen signing could be a masterstroke, there was some stat on SKY yesterday which showed that, even last season, he still had the best conversion rate of all strikers in the Premier (something like 10% better than Torres who is widely regarded as the best striker in the league).

Obviously his fitness will be an issue, but it's amazing how injuries have a tendency to not happen when you're no longer playing for a struggling side.

I think he might end up figuring more than people expect, he'll certainly score goals in that team and I hope he does, because I'd much rather we could take him to the World Cup than alternatives like Bent or Defoe.

Never slagged Owen off, I slagged that joke of a manager you had who played him behind two strikers, I was of the belief that you play your best striker as a striker.
