I don't know why WWE don't try and sign more stars from Mexico, give them a couple of years in FCW to learn the USA style and call them up.
Have to disagree with that bit Jeff - why not let them work their own (Mexican style) on WWE TV, which would offer fans something new and fresh, + help invigorate WWE's stale product. WCW did it in the 90's with Psychosis, Juventud Guerrera, Mysterio Jr etc and it is credited with helping WCW become the number one company in the world (until WWE's Attitude Era officially began in 98).
Well yeah. That's because he's actually earned his spot, he's not some guy who's spent 3 weeks in a development territory then get shoved on TV before he's ready. Del Rio has a family background in pro-wrestling and a background in amateur wrestling. He's been doing it for 10 years before coming to WWE.
In Vince Mcmahon Goldfish Bowl World (TM) that means Del Rio had no previous experience before WWE then.
Well, if Russo was still at WWE it'd be down to his casually racist belief that american fans only want to see american wrestlers
Russo would have booked RAW with 3 title changes, 2 face/heel turns, a funny backstage segment involving someone leaving a smell in the bathroom, then whipping a black man in the centre of the ring.

Before David Arquette beat HHH, Big Show, Taker & Kane in a 4-on-1 match.

Because unless they were working with someone from Mexico, which, if they get called up to the main roster may not happen, they will need to know how to work the North American style. Guys like Jericho can do both, which is good. But guys like Triple H wouldn't want to do many Lucha spots, thus meaning if they can't work well in the American style, they probably wouldn't be able to put on great matches.
The lucha style is completely different to any other style of wrestling, and from what i've heard over the years, it is the hardest to master and it is more difficult for a major star in Mexico to make it big in other markets, simply because of the vast differences in styles.

Agree with what you're saying mate (a Mexican guy needs to be flexible to work with American guys, true), but do you agree that WWE are too tunnel-visioned with their attitude that if you have a unique style that is different to theirs (but still American, e.g. CM Punk in the beginning) that you "don't know how to work"?!
IMO wrestling should be a variety show - great heavyweight matches, great tag-team matches, great women's matches, great high-flying cruiserweight matches, etc etc. WWE shoot themselves in the foot with their beliefs.
I'm not sure I agree with his assessment that the Hardy's only got into WWE because of Hayes and haven't paid any dues. Both Hardys were no-name jobbers for WWE for a couple of years before getting full time contracts.

WWE have a set style, and always have. They always will have this style. You have to learn to adapt to this style if you want to be successful in that company. Big indie names have come in and floundered. Ultimo Dragon, Colt Cobana, even Shane Douglas. Can you really call yourself a 'Great worker' if you cannot adapt yourself to a certain style? As it is only those that do, that get to shine brightly. It took Jericho 18 months to get to grips with it, and he's quite possibly the best in ring performer since HBK. It particularly concerns those of a 'smaller frame' as if you are 6'6 and 280lbs chances are you're going to get a decent push, despite what your in ring skills are [Ezekial Jackson at the moment for example]
Saying that WWE can be too harsh in dismissing talent before they ever get acclimatised with the style. With so many shows on TV nowadays [Isnt there like 6 or 7 WWE shows a week now?] the pace is far too fast. and a lot of guys just get left behind. I do feel WWE have lost what wrestling is, and this is because they feel they're not wrestling. Which is what some of the better indie stars don't understand, if you want pure wrestling matches every week on TV, you need to find another company. RoH does this, but it's on a much smaller scale. The long and short of it is, workers need to make a choice. Do they want to be a superstar or do they want to be able to wrestle matches they way they want? Because, mostly, the two do not go together in WWE.
