New team. Current lot are past it and spineless. They've failed to win the CL under various managers, massive change is needed.

Me: I'm still reeling from the news that someone is considering watching the 1st and 3rd game on Saturday and NOT watching Warrington play. It's like being in Shea Stadium when the Beatles came to town and deciding to nip out for a fag.

knockersbumpMKII: Is it FOOK, you're good but you're not THAT good, jesus you wanky fans need to get over yourselves, Beatles at the Shea in '65 was a once in a lifetime opportunity for some (despite the following years performance), you can watch a very good team in primrose & yellow play every week if you really wanted to but comparing it to one of the very best music groups of all time in an iconic stadia such as the shea is overegging your importance, you're not even the best team in SL atm

Apologies if I've missed it but I was sad to learn of the passing of Mike Doyle. Really nice piece in today's Manchester Evening News. Had the pleasure of meeting him once, really nice bloke. RIP Mike.

De Gea has signed. How long before Enfield Exile pops up with "not as good as Joe Hart" "he's rubbish" and a waste of money.

If anything highlights what a joke the FIFA rankings are, then England's current position of 4th place is truly it.

Depends on the funds available, the players he'd want and whether they were available.

There's also the fair play regulations to be met.

They've failed to win the CL under all the managers, but it's only under Ancelotti that they went out with a whimper. That suggests the problem was with Ancelotti, not with the players.

Spineless? I don't think so. I think they're utter tvvats if they don't feel they have the right boss in charge, but I don't think that makes them spineless. If anything they are the opposite. They are too willing to confront their manager and get him booted.

Of course they're spineless. No player puts results/trophies in jeopardy over a personal feud with a manager, yet that's seemingly the story of Chelsea over recent years. Drogba gets his titty lip out because he's upset. Terry controls the dressing room because he is Chelsea. The rest are merely sheep.

It just tickles me up, Ancelotti managed at Milan for X amount of years, wins the big trophies with a big dressing room with players like Nesta, Maldini, Inzaghi, Pirlo, Gattuso, Kaka, etc. better players than the current Chelsea lot, yet he somehow becomes inferior and weak. What makes me laugh even more, they actually won two trophies under him in the first year and ejaculated over him regularly in the press, yet the moment things wobble, everything is Ancelotti's fault and the players are heroic for standing up against nasty Carlo. Deary me.

Re: Football Chat Thread : Wed Jun 29, 2011 12:36 pm
Ancelotti won the Serie A ONCE in 8 years as manager of AC Milan.

That is extremely poor.

Winning the CL twice with them is fantastic. And that was probably why he was given the same task with Chelsea.

This Chelsea squad had consistently been one of the strongest in the CL. They were robbed by Ovrebo against "the greatest side ever", they lost on penalties in the final to United, they lost on pens against you lot, they pretty much only went out against the eventual winners in tough matches.

The only really spineless exits were the last two years under Ancelotti.

The two players you mention, Drogba and Terry, were two of our best performers last season. Drogba especially. And what happens in the last game of the season? Drogba is dropped from the squad altogether and Chelsea lose. We may have lost with Drogba in the side, but we wouldn't have been as pathetic as we were with him there. There was obviously a problem between them, but as Drogba performed on the field he should have been out on the field.

Yes, Ancelotti won the double in his first season. But it was a weak double. Just like United this season, we were the best of an average bunch. We didn't actually beat any strong sides to lift the FA Cup.

Only a stupid scouser would think that calling the players tvvats was another word for heroic.

Great business by Sunderland. £8 million for a talented youngster, get around 10 goals by Xmas, then King Kenny will get wet dick and give them £30 million + for him. Great stuff Bruce.
