On my Leeds save went: promoted (1st), promoted (2nd), 11th, premier league winners.

Just ran a test on holiday for a new tactic with Wolves, no new signings, no new assistant finished 11th.

Managed to get it to work in the end. Seems like it is a temporary fix though.

Best advice i can give is go on the Si forums and ask there, they are bound to have a reason/solution.

I finished fourth with Southampton, which obviously means Champions League football. They once again gave me plenty to spend, and i have signed some world class players as well some youngsters with great potential to try and keep Southampton going in the right direction.

I sold quite a few players as they were getting in there 30's, and they were more stop gap signings that were able to make a good fist of the Premiership, and they probably exceeded expectations and got me to 4th, which was a great achievements. I brought in Augero, Sneijder and Balotelli amongst others, and the board want me to challenge for the title this season, which i am confident of doing. I wasn't far off last season being in a reasonable position to challenge with about 10 games to go, however, i then lost a few, got a few injuries etc., and obviously dropped away and Chelsea won the league very easily in the end. There was 5 or 6 of us, on about 64 points, fighting it out for the final 3 champions league places, thankfully, i got one. I'll list my squad tomorrow when i have time, but its a top quality squad that is also the youngest in the league.

My current Southampton squad is:

Hart
Murphy

Kolarov
N'Koulou
Papastathopoulous
Evans
Rodwell
Mathias (Regen)
Xavier (Regen)
Fabio

Zucilini
Mackay (Regen)
Vukojevic
Sandro
Fletcher (Darren)
Guardado
Sneijder
Blanco
Sanchez
Albin
Aspiazu (Regen)
Balotetelli

Augero
Pacheco
Chamakah
Fletcher (Steven)
Kadlec

The 2013/2014 season is looking like the first time Liverpool will win the Premiership on my game, 10 games left and the top 3 are the only real challengers, here's the table:

Image

I'm into the 6th round of the FA cup where I'm away at Manchester City, into the last 16 of the Champions league against Athletico Madrid and beat Manchester United for the first time in the game (2-1). I have the easiest run in of the three, only troublesome games should be Tottenham, Manchester United, Everton. Hopefully I can make the season more successful by taking Brazil to World Cup glory, as for the 30 games in charge my record is 23-6-1 (only losing to Argentina in a friendly).

Re: Football Manager 2010 : Tue Apr 13, 2010 2:36 am
My first season at Spurs (the 4th in the game) went pretty well.

Finished 5th by 2 points, and got to the semi of the FA Cup where I lost to Arsenal who walked the league by about 15 points.

In the CL I managed to come qualify unbeaten in 2nd from a group that included Barca, Juve and Leverkusen. In the last 16 I drew holders (and eventual winners Madrid) and beat them 3-0 at the lane. Half time in Madrid and it's 0-0. Easy peasy you would think. I ended up finishing the game with 9 men and losing 4-0

Started the new season well though with 3 wins from 3 and have qualified for the group stage of the Europa League where I have St Mirren, Metalist Khirkov and some team I never heard of.

Currently sitting in 3rd place, 6 points behind 1st placed City, with a game in hand, 3 Points behind Man United on the same games. 9 games to go, genuinely have a chance to win the league, i have also won the league cup, beating City in the final. Knocked out in the 4th round of the FA Cup to Arsenal and knocked out in the first knockout round of the Champions League to Roma, despite beating them 3-1 at home in the first leg (They won 2-0 at there place), which was a little disappointing.

Also, i've sold Steven Fletcher to Barcelona for £20million, he was quality last season for Newcastle and when i signed him in January was quality for me also, but this season he's just not done the buisness so i wanted to cash in on him. I'm also looking to let the following players go Chamakah, Blanco, Sneijder and Guardado providing i can get better replacements. I've already signed Fernando Torres (28 on my game), Verratti and Sanogo for next season, with Jovetic close to signing providing i get a work permit (which he usually does). I've got the best attack in the league by some distance but my defence is pretty shaky so i will be looking to stengthen that area, but i don't think there's many top defender available.

Managed to win the league with 2 games to go, with results going my way and me winning every game in April. Great achievement.

I'm hoping that somebody can help me here. When I try to open FM2010 on the laptop, Steam loads but then the game won't start and it comes up with the following error message:

XML Parsing Error!
not well-formed (invalid token) at line 1 of default.xml

Anybody have an idea of what I can do?

Never mind, I have sorted it now :)

With 1 game left I have won the Premier League with a 2-1 win at Goodison Park, made it even sweeter...

Was knocked out of the CL in the semi final by Valencia (3-1 agg), but I'm in the FA cup final against Middlesborough (Who I just beat 5-2 in the league). So hopefully I'll do the double, then do well in the World Cup with Brazil :)
