Please god not 'Arry' the media wankathon would be unbearable. Though the fall from grace would be one of the most spectacular. Sod it give it to 'Arry'!
I think Benitez would be a good appointment, has a great record in management in europe, whether it be in champions league or la liga. We also need to get away from the old players Rio, Terry, Lampard all need to be left out now. None are permanent fixtures in the team. Pick parker as captain, 8/10 every week, will escape the huuuuge media scrutiny as he seems to be one well liked. Got great young plyaers coming through at the min in Walker, Smalling, Jones, Wilshere, Chamberlain, Sturridge, Walcott, Welbeck.
Hart
Walker Jones Cahill Cole
Parker (c) Wilshere
Rooney Gerrard Walcott
Welbeck
Squad-
Sturridge A.Johnson Smalling Jagielka Young Chamberlain G.Johnson Downing Bent Rodwell Lescott Baines
The three behind Welbeck can all interchange, with Rooney and Gerrard being able to drop in to make a midfield 5. I think we have a lot to work with, just pick players who have failed time and time again.
pretty much Keith, as i said earlier its Tabloid radio, it has it's place if thats what you want. I probably do an hour of talksport most weekdays as i find Durham funny, but the whole premise is take a ridiculous position on a particular point and let thousands of people ring in on a 0870 number.
Like the tabloids, i don't take it seriously, but it provides the odd bit of titillation

No Dawson or Lennon or Defoe ? and what about a second keeper ? maybe Green ?
Bent has no chance with 'Arry as manager but maybe Sandra could make the squad ?
Tickles me up this. All these people who are anti-racism are lusting for an English manager over a foreigner. Thought race shouldn't matter in the game of football anymore? Or is the inner xenophobe of the British nation coming back out?
Pathetic.

For the record, England could appoint every English manager alive to do the job and they wouldn't do a better job than Fabio Capello. People need to look more closer to home and realise the English players are garbage, overrated, weak mentally and incapable of playing to the level of a coach like Capello. Would love Harry to be appointed, just so the embarrassing media campaign can finally be put to bed.

Spot on Robbie.
Eventhough many previous managers have done better with England squads than Capello in major tournaments?
I like Capello as a manager, always have but the to suggest that players aren't up to playing to his level?!?!
Tell us which of the player that played under Capello that you'd say are truly world class, you know, the quality of player that could win the world cup or European championship.

well,there's..................ermmmm ?
yeah,get your point Cata
but surely the sign of a good coach is to get the best out of the players available at any given moment ? And to get the best out of the players needs respect for the coach from the players ? I don't think many of the players had that respect for Fabio ? Maybe things like confining them to barracks in Rustenberg didn't help morale ?

The point wasn't about the players really though was it? It was about Rob's view of Capello being some sort of super manager that England players aren't up to his ability, strange comment.
I've never thought England were good enough to win a major championship, possibly the later rounds like QF or maybe SF but there are teams much better than England. There's a transition going on with England, there's a lot of older players who need someone to drop them and a crop of younger players who look to have plenty of ability, the future doesn't look bad at all for England.
