I wouldn't go that far, he might just about be the best keeper fair enough but Vorm, Szczesny etc are quality goalkeepers. He was excellent tonight, he impresses me with his kicking, he's a quality footballer for a keeper. He just needs to get better at getting shots away from danger when he palms them.

Mancini will be spewing with that, the Liverpool winner coming from a rash clearance at a City throw in, just throw it down the line Kolorov, daft.

The penalty was a poor decision, the referee when nattering with players indicated that Richards arms were way above his head, well they weren't, there's just been 2 x penalties turned down in El Classico in very similar circumstances.

On the subject of Spanish football, Barca are stupid, the best club side ever for me.

If the ball hit Richards right arm straight from the shot I'd have given a pen.

But a deflection that hits his arm after he blocks the shot with his foot, that should never be given.

I think you're right. At first glance, I said definite pen. It's easy to make decisions when we get to see slow motion replays, but the referee had to make an instant decision, when you see his arms raised and the ball hits his arm in the act of blocking a shot, the ref probably felt he had no choice. Similarly, the Adam pen that was rejected didn't look like a pen at first glance, the big problem with that one was Dzeko's standing leg suddenly falling, even though there wasn't any contact on that leg. When a ref sees that, they usually think 'he's trying to blag it', but still, at first glance, it didn't look like a penalty but it probably was after slow motion.

The bit that got me was if he thought he'd thrown his arms in the air to block the shot, then why no card? Not even a yellow.

How much better are Liverpool with Gerrard? Seem's to lift the entire stadium, club etc. Bellamy looked great last night. LFC deserved to win the game. Dalglish crying was a tad cringeworthy and embarassing though. If they had won the league I'd understand, but getting through and probably winning a minor trophy isn't that great an achievment. Still not doing a great job there. Wasted alot of money and average in the league.
