Beat favourites for the league at their place, knocking them out of a competition they won less than a year ago. Scholes over 96% pass completion, Ferguson complains about United's performance. Maybe there is some light at the end of this tunnel. Now on to Bolton game next weekend.

The sending off was a tricky one. My initial reaction was that we were screwed but the more I see it the more i have a bit of sympathy for the ref. 50/50 decision in a high pressure game.

I've no problem with the result. United should have had a penalty in the second half. The worst possible result for us would have been a draw.

Hopefully we can look at our second half performance and can be an inspiration for the rest of the year.

And it only took an extra man, an awful decision, a City reserve keeper and their most consistent player this season missing through the African Cup of Nations.

My take on the game is Utd will see the cup as a route for a bit more confidence. City are set on the league so that is there priority. Be very interesting who utd get in the next round as one or two clubs this will be their target also. Love to see lpool draw Utd. Spurs V Arsenal.
