Would have been more amusing if it was the real William Roache.

Wonder how many games Bellamy will get for his xenophobic remark to Tim Krul?

Me: I'm still reeling from the news that someone is considering watching the 1st and 3rd game on Saturday and NOT watching Warrington play. It's like being in Shea Stadium when the Beatles came to town and deciding to nip out for a fag.

knockersbumpMKII: Is it FOOK, you're good but you're not THAT good, jesus you wanky fans need to get over yourselves, Beatles at the Shea in '65 was a once in a lifetime opportunity for some (despite the following years performance), you can watch a very good team in primrose & yellow play every week if you really wanted to but comparing it to one of the very best music groups of all time in an iconic stadia such as the shea is overegging your importance, you're not even the best team in SL atm

Re: The Football Chat Thread : Tue Jan 03, 2012 1:31 pm
Best bit of the Suarez judgment is the bit where they talk about the pinching. In his statement, Suarez said he did it in a 'conciliatory way'. Under cross examination, Suarez admitted this was incorrect and he did it to wind Evra up. When the Commission asked LFCs lawyer how this could be, he said 'bad drafting' (I.e. from the person who drafted the statement). Amazing.

I also liked Dalglishs comment to Phil Dowd (4th official) when he was told about the complaint 'Hasnt Evra done this sort of thing before?'. So what if he has Kenny?

I hope they appeal, I really do.

There are a few bits of 'comedy gold' in there. My personal favourite is the persistent mentioning of Evra being 'shocked' by Suarez kicking him in his knee. If you put in "Patrice Evra simule face à Luis Suarez" on YouTube, you will there isn't a kick to the knee, and you'll see comedy gold from Evra as he lies on the ground, rolling all over the show as though he'd been kneecapped.

I thought that was rubbish too. Don't know why Evra felt the need to ham that up. Cretinuous and unnecessary when you consider how disgusting Suarez's behaviour quite clearly was.

That said, I did like Evras explanation as to why he would have picked yellow at the coin toss!

Just been on Sky Sports news that Liverpool have decided not to appeal Suarez' ban and it will start immediately.

Hopefully the club can move forward. I have to admit that I actually enjoy watching him as a player.

*Faints*

Only sensible conclusion when you read the judgment. Considering how much of a hard on Liverpool had when the original decision came out this is quite a come down. Don't know who tied in they are to McCormick (their external lawyer) but he lost pretty much every argument. If I was that yank I wouldn't instruct him again and I'd also ask Dalglish to explain how he dealt with it on the day and his laughable conduct when they played Wigan.

Liverpool have retained a degree of dignity by admitting defeat now but their reputation has been tarnished by this whole farce.
