excue me am sure you said you were a York fan you play in the Blue Square Premier, you have the league, the fa trophy and the fa cup to worry about, the fa cup most of the time teams from the lower levels have already been knocked out of the fa cup by December on most occasions.

we play in Unibond League North, we have the league which were already 4 games behind the rest and will be 6 games behind when we have finished with the fa cup this weekend and the fa trophy the weekend after,

to sum it up we have the League, Fa cup, Fa trophy, Unibond League cup, Unibond presidents cup and the west riding cup.

so you are in a higher league and dont have to play in 3 of the competitions i mentioned.

we dont have a big squad we are going through a good speell, the main aim for us this season is getting out of theleague and getting back upinto the conference, how are we going to manage that when we are playing the last 20 games of the season in the last 6 weeks of the season bit difficult that isnt it.

Espanwofan has already stated that Chasetown did a simalar thing and ended up with too many league games towards the end and just couldny sustaine the push cause they were tired.
i am happy that we are winning but there really is to manty competitons at the level we are at we play in 3 more cups than you do, they ned to get rid of a couple of them.

All i know is you come on every week beaming from ear to ear that you have won again in these competitions that you apparently hate? Seems odd to me. The more successful a team is the more games they play simple as.

As for York we only have the 3 comps, nothing to do with us that there are only that many. City also play in local comps akin to the West Riding cup and shock horror we play our reserves in it like you lot should if Aspin thinks you don't have a big enough squad to get you promoted with all these comps going on. Unless your telling me that you don't have the players to field a reserve/youth side? In which case i would be very worried about the long term future of your club

we dont have a reserve side no we dont have enough players for a reserve side.

yes i am happy we are winning, some of the tournaments sound very simalar for example the unibond league cup and Unibond presidents cup still dont know why they can just have 1 unibond cup and thats it.

yes but the higher up the leagues you go the more there are schedualed breaks for games, the draws are for the same time as league games.

these comps though there is this rule though you have to play 7 of your first team regualrs in these competitions though so there is no chance of playing a reserve side even if we had one.

That's worrying that you don't have enough to put out a reserve/youth side in the West Ridings Cup. Wasn't aware of that 7 player rule. Like i said before though I'm sure Aspin knows what he's doing and would find a way to get you out of these comps if he thought you were struggling

yeah. so even if we wanted to play a reserve side we couldnt cause we have to play 7 of the 1st team.

i hope he does get us out of the Unibond cups and the West riding cup ASAP,

How many Conference sides have a reserve team....off the top of my head I would guess well under 10 and at Blue Square North and South Level probably similar across the 2 leagues.

Not necessarily good long term but that's the way most teams at that level work.

I didn't mean like a formal reserve team. We officially don't have one but we play behind close doors "reserve" friendlies with fringe players and youth players.

Our reserve league last season was a joke last season, think we went 2 months without a fixture at one point which defeats the point of the whole thing. Unless Fax have over invested in their first team then they must surely have a youth setup and at least 19-20 players on the books. Looks like nothing can be done about the most of the comps with this 7 player rule.

we have about 17 players.

not enough to run a reserve side, we have unibond league cup matchas and west riding cup matches we can give run outs to these players not getting much game time.

also just like to say i just got back from Harrogate from the league match played awful most of game but found a way to win, its like they say if you can win without playing well then you are a good team.

15 wins on the spin. bring on Wrexham on saturday.
