At least they're talking about it. Still, I don't know much about the market but most have said it'll be a couple of years at least before anything happens.

| Why has nobody mentioned Van Persie's role in the stamping?
If it's clear that Adebayor stamps on his hand, then why is it not clear that Van Persie clutched his face like a girl? Is this not simulation or trying to con the official?

You obviously weren't listening to Radio 5 this afternoon then. Not sure who the guy was but he really laid into Van Persie.

To be fair he did have blood on his face so unless some Quins style blood capsuleness was going on, he was caught.

His face got caught by Ade and it scraped the skin which then bled.

If Ade missed his face but stamped his arm, would anything have happened? If he done the exact same motion, the same stamping motion but didn't get the face, would he have been banned or would nobody have noticed?
Does making a player bleed warrant a ban, when there are players who have done far more vicious, pre-meditated things that have been completely ignored by the FA?
Also, does stamping on certain parts of the body warrant different bans? Would a stamp on the bollox warrant a similar ban as a stamp on the arm? They're both violent conduct, but somehow, I don't see the FA treating every situation the same, which is where their downfall lies. Inconsistency and lack of clarity in the rules continues to happen. How long can we let these clows run our game?

I didn't see the Athens one properly. My mate said their play kicks out and got Distin in the nads, but I wasn't watching properly so all I seen was him kick out but I wasn't paying attention to the contact.
The Saha one was weird, it looked like he just touched his face and the Athens player got sniped.

For me the FA got it right. Any stamp should be a red card and a ban regardless of where the stamp was aimed at. He knew what he was doing, he has not virtually admitted it with his statement overnight by saying a person can only take so much before they will react. He went to stamp on RVP and has been punished for it. I don't see how anyone can defend it.
Now if you want to talk about the celebration that's different, whilst what he did was out of order by running the length of the field, he was actually yellow carded for it so that should be the end of it. It's moe the reaction of the Arsenal fans at the time that have made that particular situation worse.

| Quote Karlos13="Karlos13"The city fans were so incensed by Van Persie that it took them until Monday to complain to police.
'"
Unlike Arsenal and Everton fans, City supporters were not offended by Van Perie's verbal assault. It was only when Adebayor was charged with improper conduct, did City fans retaliate with a complaint to police. It's all very pathetic. Rooney celebrated in front of City fans at the Derby at Eastlands last year. Didn't bother the City fans. It appears that some clubs have fans who are delicate, little flowers.
I see that Adebayor has been called a 'boy' by Ferguson. Do you think it wise to call a black man, 'boy'? Hint of racism, if you ask me.
I see United fans are ecstatic that Adebayor has been banned. I thought we were supposed to rubbish, small etc.. Funny how some of you appear to be relieved that we can only put out half a team. Very interesting change in attitude.

Think it's more to do with Adebayor than City as a whole. The lad (is that ok?) has scored four in four.

From the BBC report that comment was about the celebration, not the stamp.
Quote PAUL MHe went to stamp on RVP and has been punished for it. I don't see how anyone can defend it.'"
IMO if someone deliberately stamped on someone's face then they should be looking at a minimum of a 10 match ban. This wasn't a deliberate stamp on the face, it was a slight reaction to a bad challenge from RVP which Adebayor slightly reacted to.
There was far more intent from Wayne Rooney when he won that ridiculous penalty for England.
From the FA's perspective I don't think there was that much they can do. Arsenal have bleated so much about this, Adebayor is already such a hate figure and there's so much media glare about this that they did the only thing they could do.

TBH the FA should accept he's already been punished for the celebration, make a statement to that effect and then rip up that utterly moronic rule.
I think Adebayor should get done for the celebration beyond the yellow card. But according to the FA's rules it should be the end of it. But sadly the FA seem to pick and choose when they apply their own rules.
Over this whole affair I hate Arsenal even more. They got stuffed on the pitch. They tried to dish it out but came off second best. So then then whine like little girls after the game and run to the FA about being picked on. I really hope those hypocritical ****ers don't qualify for the CL this year.

Indeed.
The three match ban was fair and reasonable so why the hell can they just not leave it at that and move on but they just keep going on and on like an old woman.
Now we have Fabregas whinging and whining now about a tackle that hasn't even rated a mention all week.
They won't be happy until he gets banned for life.
We are all in danger of being drowned in a tidal wave of tears from the Emirates Stadium.

Sir Alex doesn't discriminate, the use of the word boy has referred to players of all creed and colour in the past and will continue to do so.
Now if he suddenly turned into Ron Atkinson you may have a point but seeing as though it's a cheap points scoring exercise with you playing the horrible thats not P.C card which is destroying society and its ways as a whole you quite clearly don't

Over the last couple of years, my dislike for Arsenal has diminished somewhat, and I developed an indifference to them. However, their cry-baby attitude in the last 5 days or so, has reminded me why I disliked them in the first place.
I can understand Wenger and fabregas wanting to deflect attention away from the fact that they were beaten by a team that shown more pace, physicality and desire (although not skill in terms of keeping possession). However, the self-righteous attitude has continued has continued to pour out of the Emirates. I am smug about it all though as I know Arsenal will make a fool of themselves shortly and will look like hypocrites.

No hint whatsoever, that's silly talk. If you listen to Fergie he always uses that term when talking about players. If he said regarding Wellbeck 'we have high hopes for the boy' would that have a hint of racism?
