Depends on the fan. The way I saw the sacking was like this: the club underachieved, the points total was really poor and we were miles off the 'top 4' finish we wanted. Some of our fans have turned and said "where's the stadium?", as if you can pluck one out of the air. They've also began to criticise them for the lack of direction and personnel making decisions. For me, FSG know a lot more about running a sporting club than the majority of our fans, so I'm hoping they have a plan and they're looking to kick start things immediately. They never came here promising billions and they never claimed to be footballing geniuses, but they do have the right view for the club IMO.
A lot of the reaction will depend on the appointment, the majority of our fans won't view Martinez as a Dalglish upgrade, just like Hodgson on Rafa. I like Martinez but he's not ready yet.
I'd agree with that. When FSG came in I think they were properly appraised of the situation and they went with Daglish because that's what the fans were saying they wanted. To do anything other than that would have resulted in a Roy Hodgson situation i.e. the fans not on the coach's side from day one. I think the same would happen with Martinez. There's too many fans who would say, with good justification, that he isn't right for the club. Martinez may have his teams playing football but when I watch his team and Brendan Rodgers' team there's a world of difference between the two in terms of quality and approach. Sorry to keep mentioning Rodgers btw, it's just an easy comparison for me as a promising manager who is building in the same manner that I would imagine FSG would want to do.
FSG bowed to the fans by appointing Kenny but I don't think they were given any other choice. They backed him with major wonga and he flopped a bit. I don't necessarily think he flopped with who he signed because both Downing and Carroll are more than capable of performing at this level but you need a coaching set up which knows how to get the most out of them and it's in that area that Daglish must be responsible i.e. why did he go for these players and then not play to their strengths. There's a case that with a bit more time he could develop Carroll (who really should be the English Duncan Ferguson without the toolish behaviour) but I think FSG have weighed up whether they can afford to chance that or not and they've reverted back to what their original plan was. If I was them I'd do exactly the same because they've sacrificed some of their original strategy because then it was the right thing to do.
The behaviour of LFC fans towards Martinez is quite disgusting. Who else do they think they can realistically get to manage a mid-table premier league table? It's a natural progression for Roberto, who will get them playing great football.
Our worst PL finish ever, finishing 8th, the owners don't like this therefore they sack a man who is idolized by the fans, for a manager who's never finished above 12th in the PL. Hardly progression.
Irrespective of our league position this year, we're still a massive club, one of the biggest in Europe, it would be a huge step up from Wigan. Roy couldn't handle the pressure of being at a top club and his CV wipes the floor over Martinez'. We need a throphy winning coach, somebody like an AVB, Frank de Boer, Klopp, Lowe, Dechamps etc.

I hate to break it to you, but you are now POTENTIALLY a massive club......Admittedly, you are probably the biggest challenge in World football at present, simply because of what consistant success could bring to Anfield, but in the last 3 years you have dropped a long way behind the likes of City, United and Arsenal....Even Tottenham could consider themselves your equal.
As for your new manager, its a difficult one for whoever takes over, simply because of the deluded nature of many of your fans, who are still living in the 70's and 80's....I agree for Martinez its a huge step and probably an unrealistic one, though if Moyes ever left Everton, I'd have him in a flash (probably due to the different levels of delusion and expectation Everton and Liverpool have).
As for Moyes, IF he wasn't the boss of your fierce local rivals, is it fair to say, with his record, he would be a hot favourite for this vacancy and would kopites be happy with a manager who is supposedly good enough to be taking over from Fergie at Man Utd?
Why do so many think Liverpool is too big for Martínez? He's cut his teeth, put stability in place for two Premier League clubs and proved he can win at Anfield.
A Liverpool fan on Talksport said today, and I quote, "I think Mourinho is ready for the Liverpool job." I think Noah is ready to ditch that ark and work at B&Q.

Surely you're able to answer that question yourself. It's not particularly difficult and I don't think Liverpool fans are being obtuse by suggesting it may be the case. They could be wrong but it's not an unreasonable statement to make.
Utd cash in bank down to £26m. £71m taken out of the club in interest payments in the last 9 months. Expect another summer of 'no value in the market'.

I'm sure he'd relish the challenge of revitalising the fortunes of the second biggest club in the biggest league in the world, especially if he gets a couple of hundred million quid bunged his way to do it. There's nowhere else for him to go at the moment if he leaves Real after all: Mancini is safe at City now for the time being, he'll never go back to Chelsea or Inter, Ferguson's going nowhere for a few years yet (and I doubt United would put up with his sideshow anyway), Arsenal will lumber on with Wenger indefinitely, the whole of Spain would implode if he went to Barca, and Juve/Milan are doing very nicely with their current incumbents, thank you very much. I very much doubt there are any other clubs big enough for him. He's been at Real for 2 years and hasn't won the European Cup and so is well overdue a sacking - I can easily see him in a Liverpool shellsuit next season if that happens and the Yanks give him a decent sized warchest to rebuild with. Dear God I hope so...
Definition of a delusional fan, your not a big enough club to bring someone like Mourinho it would be a massive step back for the guy, Madrid have just achieved 100 points in La Liga; the first time a teams ever done that and finished a well in front of the mighty Barca.......... Enjoy Martinez!

You qualified from the group with a last gasp stunner from gerrard. You then won the semi with a ghost goal that never was, then we all know the inexplicable events that unfolded in the final which was eventually won, suprise suprise on penalties with the keeper at the time (dudek?) about 5 metres off his final for every milan penalty.
You can't fluke a champions league win, but you certainly made a good go of it and enjoyed more good fortune than most throughout that campaign.
