Indeed so, but the cheques written then need paying for now and the till is empty. A salutary lesson - one that, like Pompey and Rangers and dozens of others, nobody will heed so long as their club is winning games and keeping up with repayments. I fear for Bolton now their noses have been removed from the trough.

I think Fat Sam is a crook. But I don't think that's why he was fired from Blackburn. He was fired from Blackburn because he was ex-Bolton, the fans didn't like him anyway, he was seen as a long ball merchant, and then the fact he was bent just gave them the hint of legitimacy.

But Fat Sam is clearly a far better manager than Steve Kean will ever be. And Blackburn would probably still be a PL club if he was still there.

Steve Kean is An Idiot Abroad only really works at the very end when Kean is talking about Blackburn signing Ronaldinho and David Beckham.
