Man Citys starting lineup cost less than Man Utds
A daft stat as United spent theirs over 12 years no doubt and City in 3.
Anyway, congratulations to City. They'd have done it a lot sooner with a better manager but they've done it. It'll be interesting to see how the owner's interest keeps up now they are champions. It could go a few ways. They could turn into Chelsea and the success means the owners turn off the tap a little, they could also quite easily dominate English football and make the Premier League a one club race. United can't keep up with them in the spending and are some way behind in terms of the squad quality.
Great to see Everton finish off the good second half of the season by smashing Newcastle, who've punched way above their weight all season and finished in a false position.
Sets up an interesting summer. You've got Liverpool sacking Dalgleish tomorrow if the rumours are to be believed and them needing to spend another £150m to turn around their slide down the table. I'm not sure they'd trust KKK to do that now. You've got City who can now presumably attract a higher calibre of player now having won the Premier League and becoming annual CL qualifiers. You've also got United who will be looking to fight back next season and will presumably have to spend massively on their midfield and defense to win it back.
As an Everton fan, it's that part of the year where we all bunker down and count down the days till the transfer window closes. If we get to September with Baines, Jagielka, Fellaini and Jelavic I'll be made up. The key for us would appear to be sorting a deal with Spurs for Stevie P, who has been the form player in the Premier League since January.
