I forgot the horse and donkey show was on tonight. Classic Bin Dippas booing Malouda for getting stamped on.

Some utterly bizarre refereeing tonight again. Mr Friend books Terry when he touches Carroll's shirt in the first half (And in no way physically impeded him) yet Suarez is allowed to took a proper swing at Ivanovich during their tussle in the corner. How on earth he stayed on the field with the modern interpretations of the rules is beyond me. You could tell by Suarez's reaction how bad it was and how much he was expecting a red.

Typical Liverpool luck to get a side focused so completely on the Champions League final. I was hoping for a result for Chelsea so Everton can't end up below them if/when we lose to Newcastle next weekend.

Carroll's had a decent game tonight, one of about three on the field who has mind. If only being a striker didn't require technical ability and finishing or he'd be world class. He is a typical Everton striker all huff and no quality, Moyes would love him. Shelvey's finish was very impressive, can't understand why he's been overlooked pretty much all season for the likes of Spearing and Henderson who are both terrible.

Another example tonight of two absolutely terrible centre halves who should have retired by now. Terry has never looked worse and Carragher is awful.

How do you sneak a chicken into a football match?

On a serious note, are Venkys really this naive group of people who didn't realise there was relegation and thought £5 million would get them the players to get into the top four?

I still maintain that John Terry has been our best player this season.

He was dog**** tonight (first half anyway, CBA DLing the 2nd half), but that doesn't negate the work he's put in the rest of the season.

I'm hoping tonight, and the last 30 minutes of the final, are just a cunning plan to make Carroll look good so Liverpool persist with the donkey and he ruins them next year too. We even let him have the open goal unchallenged after the pen came off the post. But ultimately, his quality just showed itself.

£50 to a steward. Or the steward let them in for free because he was in on the protest.

I can't have any sympathy for Blackburn fans TBH. They wanted rid of Fat Sam, simply because he was ex-Bolton. And they are so utterly stupid they use a relegation decider as a time to put up their biggest protests against the manager. They must be the most retarded supporters in the world. You get behind your team for the 90 minutes and save your protests for after the game.

To be honest, what else can football fans do? Unfortunately for the majority of the British public, they aren't too savvy about the world of business and what they generally get is mostly ignorant stuff in rags. When 'Venky's' took over, there was talk of infinite wealth with ownership coming from somewhere new to sports. They weren't 'Yanks' sucking money out of the club, they weren't Arabs or Russians with oil money getting in with their oil muckas, they were Indians apparently desperate to make a club big in India.

The sad thing is, it's only new owners that can excite a fan base these days. Every club sees what's happened at Chelsea and Citeh, two small clubs for many a decade, and suddenly the impossible dreams become a reality. I myself know full well that the only way Liverpool will compete is through outstanding decisions at management and football level. We'd have to sign as well as anybody in the world in the transfer market, whilst Ayre will have to pull off some mega-deals if we're to get a new stadium. Things can change rapidly in football though, FFP will soon be in full effect, which I think will actually just make the big clubs even more powerful.

Your post is quite agreeable apart from this bit. Chelsea and Man City were hardly small clubs before they had money.

He's a scouser. They like to be selective with their history.

The highest attendance recorded at Anfield is 61905.
The highest league attendence at Stamford Bridge is 82,905 (with an unofficial 100,000 for the visit of Dynamo Moscow).
The highest league attendence of Maine Road for Citeh is 83,260 .

The man who's won more honours at Liverpool as player/manager than Chelsea have in their entire history

Unless you're now counting big attendances as major honours?
