I don't know whether Hazard has a string of incidents that have been covered up, but according to his wikipedia page this is the first incident of controversy surrounding Hazard.
Contrast that with Suarez.
At the age of 15, Suárez was red carded for headbutting a referee.
Ajax saw potential in Suárez and offered Groningen €3.5 million for him, but Groningen rejected the deal.[12] Suárez was upset and brought his case to the KNVB’s arbitration committee to try to facilitate the sale.[12] The arbitration committee ruled against him on 9 August 2007, but that same day, Ajax increased their offer to €7.5 million and Groningen accepted.
He was also suspended after a halftime altercation with teammate Albert Luque over a free kick.
On 20 November 2010, Suárez was in trouble again when he bit PSV's Otman Bakkal on the shoulder during a 0–0 draw.
But the season was marked by an incident in which Suárez was found guilty by the FA of racially abusing Patrice Evra during a game against Manchester United in October; he was given an eight-game suspension and a £40,000 fine.[61] In their next meeting in February, during the pregame handshakes, Suárez avoided shaking Evra's hand, for which Suárez and Dalglish were later forced to apologize.
Late in extra time, Ghana sent a free kick into the box; Suárez blocked Stephen Appiah's shot on the goal line.[79] He then blocked Dominic Adiyiah’s goalbound header with his hands[36] to save what would have been the game winner[80] and he was sent off. Asamoah Gyan missed the ensuing penalty kick off the crossbar[79] and Suárez celebrated the miss.[8][81][82] Uruguay won the shootout 4–2 and advanced to the semifinal.[79]
After the game, Suárez said, "I made the save of the tournament."
But hey, it's all a witch hunt really, isn't it. Luis is a really great guy when you get to know him.
