People will scoff at it, but I don't see how he gets in our starting 17, Cooper or not. If you go with the traditional 4 props then Ellis, Havard, Mago and Byrne would be my pick. I'd actually have Isa on the bench for his utility value and O'Neil as an interchange at 9.
If Cooper comes in, then I'd have him starting and Ellis replacing Isa on the bench.
It would be huge if we could move Singo on somehow. He'd be great for Leigh if they came up.
This isn't a Singleton witch hunt or anything as he's been pretty good for the most part this season...bans aside!
Huddersfield at home comes to mind for example. However, against Saints where time is tight and defensive line speed good, he struggled. Havard in the same match managed the most yards of any front rower on the pitch so it shows it's still possible. Come the playoffs or maybe final can we afford another ineffectual Singleton performance? I know it was a poor Hull last night but or front row was far more consistent regardless of which pairing was on the field. Only Partington didn't make an impact.
We like to play 5 props so I guess Singleton would come into contention for that 5th prop slot but add Cooper into the mix and that's no longer an option, injuries notwithstanding. Minus Cooper, I still don't think he should start as Byrne/Havard looked much better at setting the tone to me.
