A thread on the topic of a game in which we won 60-0 and our player made history and it turns into a Saints thread.

Yup, but apparently RedVee is the sight with the unhealthy obsession. Like you said, big win against Hull and peoples 1st thoughts are "I wonder what Redvee think of the game?".

Laughable

Really impressive stats from Mago and Smithies last night. Mago was 113m from 11 carries and Smithies was 136 from 17 & 34 tackles.

On the other side, more poor stats from Partington. Can't help but think that, if the Cooper rumours are true, last night was his farewell match.

I admire Peet's loyalty to certain lads and undoubtedly they deserved a first crack at cementing a spot. We're now in mid July tho and I've not seen anything from Partington, in his 14 games, to suggest he's a long term option. When does McDonnell get a proper run, or even Nesemba?

Our front row was excellent last night. Mago continues to improve and his yards will, in part, reflect more time on the field. He carried well again and scattered players for fun. Probably should have gone himself for the bombed try but 2 others were scored from his passing/offloading game so swings and roundabouts I guess. Ellis went really well too and I thought a Havard/Byrne starting partnership set the tone well in that first quarter. Get Cooper in the mix and is there a way back for Singleton?

People will scoff at it, but I don't see how he gets in our starting 17, Cooper or not. If you go with the traditional 4 props then Ellis, Havard, Mago and Byrne would be my pick. I'd actually have Isa on the bench for his utility value and O'Neil as an interchange at 9.

If Cooper comes in, then I'd have him starting and Ellis replacing Isa on the bench.

It would be huge if we could move Singo on somehow. He'd be great for Leigh if they came up.

This isn't a Singleton witch hunt or anything as he's been pretty good for the most part this season...bans aside! :D Huddersfield at home comes to mind for example. However, against Saints where time is tight and defensive line speed good, he struggled. Havard in the same match managed the most yards of any front rower on the pitch so it shows it's still possible. Come the playoffs or maybe final can we afford another ineffectual Singleton performance? I know it was a poor Hull last night but or front row was far more consistent regardless of which pairing was on the field. Only Partington didn't make an impact.

We like to play 5 props so I guess Singleton would come into contention for that 5th prop slot but add Cooper into the mix and that's no longer an option, injuries notwithstanding. Minus Cooper, I still don't think he should start as Byrne/Havard looked much better at setting the tone to me.

Stunning performance. Very few errors and, in truth, could have had more. Can't believe they took Bevan off though. In an era where getting bums on seats is a struggle, he and field are pure box office. Not to mention, with 23 minutes left, I reckon he could have had 10! That's a marketing dream. What were they thinking?

Yep, it felt wrong.

The people around me were completely dismayed by it.

It looked like there was some confusion on the sidelines too with French walking off and then turning around o it to be told he was going off again.

I guess that Peet was simply trying to protect one of his best players.

Peets interview is on Wigan TV. He said French felt a bit tight in the hamstring. No injury and no worry going forward but felt there was no point risking it.

If that's the case, I can totally understand it. Had we just taken him off to protect him or whatever we'd have been shooting ourselves in the foot.

Fair play! As much as we’d have loved 8 or 9 tries, I’m already looking forward to watching him at headingly.
