Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good - sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league - Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate - the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever - Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go - Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know - FIOS
Obviously big rumours flying about that Warrington may have snared Myler, just wondering whether people would be disappointed that he may have gone to them. Personally I would be disappointed if he didn't come to us and went to a local rival, would rather he stayed where he is than strengthen them.
Plus I'm sure many fear as I do that as times goes by players that were hopeful of signing are snapped up by other clubs leaving us with no other choice but to go with second rate Aussies, hope I'm wrong I really do.

Being disappointed by something like this depends on whether Myler was ever on our radar. Lots of people are saying we should be in for Myler, but TBH that's a matter of opinion.
Rumours are also flying around that an awful lot of money would be involved. Plus, we already have a very exciting, very young halfback in Sam, who may see such a signing as a direct challenge to his first team chances. Those are pretty two reasons why the club may not have targeted Myler.
I'd be sorry to see him join Wire, but I doubt he was ever going to stay at Salford.
As a possible pill-sweetener, there's also a rumour going round that Wire will release cap space for him by allowing Morley to join us.

what we need to be honest, no nonsense big prop with a reputation. He ran straight through us the other week.
I'd just wonder how much £££'s he'd be on, surely him and Fielden would command close to a quarter of the cap between them.

True striking the balance has to be the main priority and reassurances would have to be given to S Tompkins before a deal was struck.
As for the possible chance of signing Morley although an excellent player and a comparison between the two is difficult due to age and position, in my eyes having a maximum possible service out of Morley of 3 years when he is already 32 or a possible 12 years out of Myler I know which id prefer, and I would imagine that at present Morley would certainly soak up more of the salary cap.

I know it all hearsay at the moment but i feel that having a player like morley in the team could really benefit Fielden. It would allow him to get stuck in knowing that he would have back up. somthing he aint had whilst with us. i think they are pretty good mates also??

If the introduction of Morley could turn around Fieldens form into that of his Bradford days, certainly that front row would have to go down as the best starting front row in Superleague. Although there are a couple of IF's to say the least
Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid. Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal. Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.

Myler would be a great long term prospect. For me there is one simple choice for Wigan. That is Brett Kimmorley. Great organiser and is not afraid of shouting the odds. Exactly the type of player in which Tomkins could develop with over the next 2 years. Further, he is 30 years old now, so will leave the NRL.
