Rumour mill in overdrive at the moment.
I've heard from 3 different people that JT and SOL will be retiring at the end of the season.
Not sure how accurate this is or if it is people adding 2and 2 and making 5.
Maybe some major restructuring on the way?

Don't use Facebook so not sure what has been said but he has a broken ankle I believe. Not from the Warrington game.

To be fair this would be in line with Wane stating we probably need to look at established players rather than projects.

It is consistent with his statement after the Roosters match where we publicly stated the way to go in future would be to look for size, then put together one of the smallest, in stature, squads in SL.

If it turns out to be true can't in honesty really judge as I've seen nothing of him.

Though I understand and agree with what you are saying we also are in a salary capped sport, a cap which is relatively low and we have to balance the squad and cap. No one can have a team full of top class players anymore.

'Do you remember when we had that meeting in Orlando? We talked about how we were knocked out the previous year by Leeds. And at the end, I asked you one question. "Do you want to be a semi-final team? Or do you want to do something special?" You all said you wanted to win. But talking is easy – it needed you to believe. It needed you to work hard – harder than you had – and make sacrifices. You did all that. you worked for each other. You stuck together when it was tough. And because of your efforts, you sit here tonight as champions. I'm proud of you. Be proud of yourselves. You've done something special.'

Shaun Wane's post-Grand Final speech. 5th October 2013.

Read a bit about this on Total RL. He hasn't been on a full time deal at Catalans and Wigan have supposedly jumped in pronto to offer him one ahead of them (which he's meant to have accepted). There's a video clip of him running at and flattening Scott Moore. That'll do for starters!

A few people on there are saying he looks a good prospect and is an aggressive ball runner and defender.

Going off that video first thing to notice is his size of lack of it, again adding to our problems.

I personally feel you need a big front row when 2 of your pack in Faz and Bateman are in relative terms small.

Only going off the clip looks like a young Ben Flower, which is great in some ways however I wouldn't like to have them both in the match day 17 at the same time for reasons mentioned above.

With rumours Mossop will be off we have an opportunity to bring in a decent established Prop surely, hopefully this isn't his direct replacement.

I appreciate we can't have a team full of stars and we need a squad but it just strikes me again of poor fan management when direct statements come from the club coach regarding a change in ethos from signing project type players and the first 2 players we are linked with are this guy and Escarrai (or however you spell it).

RL Mole on Twitter saying that Superleague clubs are fighting over Soward's signature for next season. Soward responded by asking which clubs and said he wants to be playing in England or France next year suggesting he'll be playing over here again.
I'd love us to get Soward, especially if Smith is going. I'd be disappointed if we're not in for him and more so if he ends up at one of our main rivals. I think he could be very good for us and would answer our goal kicking questions!

I would be surprised if we were in for him. As it stands we will have, assuming Smith is going to Saints, 5 potential halves in the squad if Rocky goes 4.

Other clubs like Saints, in my opinion where he will end up, will have more urgency and cap to throw at him.

If Smith leaves that gives us Williams, Shorrocks, Leuluai (if u see him as a 7 and not a 9), Powell, and Hampshire. Soward is far better at 7 than any of them IMO and his presence will really help the likes of Shorrocks development.

Or bring in Zac Hardaker, play Sam at 7.

I was all for keeping Sam at 1 only seeing him moving to the halves when he's older, when his pace goes. But, after watching him his season I'm not sure if it's fitness or if his pace has gone.

Hardacker with Williams and Tomkins at 6 and 7 looks like a good attacking threat from the backs.

Forwards are what concerns me. Big doubts over Micky, Joel, Lockers and Clubb. If they're not right, and/or not going to be the players they once were we need to move them along, that's a big chuck of our cap on the sidelines.
