SAINTS THE ORIGINAL AND PERENNIAL CHEATS

For sale full Saints kit (circa 1989). Shirts in pristine condition, but shorts badly soiled.

For 27 - 0 you get a trophy
For 75 - 0 you get sod all.

Wigan had eight in a row
Saints have five in a row

Cheers. Rogues is usually the man for the Academy games. I wonder if he went last night. I went to the game last year at St Jude’s and there must have been 400-500 there. It was rammed last year but I couldn’t make it last night.

It’s all cycles in Sport. Wigans Academy was poor last season but the U16s were outstanding. Now all that U16s team are playing Academy and it’s a great Academy team this season.

There’ll be one or two superstars for both teams. As mentioned previously Farrimond was the best player on the pitch last season followed by Robertson at Saints. I’d be amazed if those two don’t break through

It does seem too that Warrington have got their act together with their youth set up.

No Stu, I didn't go, I was hoping it would be shown live on Wigan t.v.
I've just seen the trys and Saints looked a bit bigger, their fullback looked very good, I'll watch the full game at some point. Didn't Saints sign four players from Wigan St, Judes?

It's always difficult with the scholars as they are U15 and U16 age groups and that can make a bid difference at this level.
I'm looking forward to the Wigan v Saints academy game on the 8th April at Robin Park and particularly the Farrimond v Robertson duel, both really exciting prospects.

Judes did put a Facebook post on recently, stating Saints signed four youngsters.

my friend who was at the game said that the Saints pack was a lot bigger than Wigan, and stand outs were scrum half and full back.
For Wigan tried hard and forwards played above their size and loose forward had a good game for Wigan

Found out earlier that the FB for Saints U16s (one of the four signed from St Jude's) is a Wigan ST holder- him and all his family so I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up at Wigan in the next few years.

Stu, what's your thoughts on Lewis Baxter? Ive seen that he's on the verge of breaking through maybe? I watched him grow up playing for Judes. Nice kid.

To be honest I've not seen anything in him as yet that makes me think he will go well. I don't think his physique is up to much either, always looks to be carrying too much weight.

George Delaney in the Academy/Reserves is a much better prospect. He runs really hard, he's in our 21 man squad this week and the rumours are that he will be in the 17 (he has played a couple of first team games before)

Seems like there are high hopes for Delaney and Harvie Hill going off their Knights call ups last year. I think we’re getting to the point where Hill needs to be given a chance. It’s not like our props are killing it and we certainly don’t want another Matty Nicholson on our hands.

Paasi and Sironen missing on Friday to add to Knowles, Matautia, Batchelor and Walmsley. Its effectively our first choice complete pack.

HKR still better than evens to win the game.

I went in on HKR yesterday even without knowing about Paasi and Sironen. If Saints get a win at HKR minus those guys you’ll deserve all the praise you get.

RICHARDS IS SUPERMAN!!!!

Wire_91 wrote:its your first final in about 8 years and now you ravin and rantin about it F**k off, and ill be going old trafford tomoz cheering on the saints and ill be writing on this forum givin you loads of shi* when your drying you eyes and the wire fan will be here handing out the tissues in the thousands, thats if you do take that many fans cause now it looks like its your fans who have jumped on the band wagon now your in a final, this time last year there was only 1000 people in the jjb and now its fillin up cause youve won the league hahaha proper true supporters you are

Not surprised to see Paasi missing, trainer was with him after every carry during the first half on GF

Noticed Hull KR are missing a few forwards due to bans. So evens it up slightly, I’m sure the Saints kids are up there with the best in country.

Stu are you “writing off the saints” this week?
