| Mitch Pearce anyone?
Would be a great signing for any team in SL, and looks like he will be available.

| Makes you wonder what they'd do if they came across real beer...
Mitchell Pearce is a class half-back, though, by any standards. Makes me laugh to hear 'Origin fans' describe him as 'rubbish'. Whether he's better than his QLD counterparts is a matter of opinion, but I doubt there's a SL fan who wouldn't be delighted to have Pearce and Maloney as their halves partners.

They must have some good looking dogs over there, similar to the well known, highly attractive, 'Scholes Post Box'

Pearce has always seemed like the Australian version of Matty Smith, a bit robotic and without flair, but does the basics of being a half-back well and has the capability to have very good games. But not a star player.

| Of the two I prefer Maloney, but I don't think there's much doubt that it's fair to say MP is a considerably better player than Matty Smith.

I completely agree he is a better player, but in style I see they as similar for the reasons I stated.

| In some ways I feel sorry for NRL stars. They're under as much scrutiny as Wayne Rooney gets here but earning nowhere near enough to insulate their antics from the public or media.

| Paul Rowley resigned from Leigh citing personal reasons behind the decision. That's a big shock that considering the seasons 10 days away and there's so much excitement at the club with the signings.
Don't want to speculate as to the details around it but its certainly surprising. Always rated him as a coach. Maybe they'd look at Iestyn Harris (but I know he said he wasn't bothered about coaching anymore). Maybe an upcoming coach like Lee Briers or something

As one of those rare creatures - a top Aussie who deeply believes in the international game, WB would not be a bad shout at all.

| If we are looking for a long term successful England coach, then it as to be Brian McDermott for me.
