You do know that the vaccine doesn’t stop you catching or passing covid on right?

So even if 100% of players are vaccinated it wouldn’t stop games getting postponed like you are implying.

Yes a total farce.

Almost as farcical as vaccination mandates despite the fact that the covid vaccines were developed to help stop/reduce serious cases and were never intended to stop people getting or passing on the covid virus.

I haven’t used the bbc website for sometime so maybe I used their search function incorrectly but I couldn’t find anything on their website re the protest yesterday in London for the unvaccinated nhs staff.
I genuinely hope it’s my lack of ability in using the function rather than the bbc ignoring the protest.

It wasn’t the headline, but it was featured prominently in this article

Ian Lenagan has revealed that all but one member of the Wigan Warriors squad has been vaccinated against Covid-19.

Speaking at the club’s media day on Friday, he said players can’t be pressured into getting the vaccine, although they will try to persuade them.

The Wigan owner hopes that the prospect of missing some matches throughout the season will act as an incentive across the sport.

He said: “When you’re speaking about religious, cultural or any other reasons, you can’t force but you can persuade. People have their own reasons why they choose not to be vaccinated.

For a younger player, or even more so for an older one, you want to play every in a season, and we’ve got two games away in Toulouse and Perpignan.

I’ve seen what the NRL are doing, and the French scenario is quite important. Look at Djokovic and Tennis in Australia, everyone has the same problem.

We are in a good place, and the fact that scrums are coming back is obviously a tribute to the percent of vaccinated players is high.”

Really good work by all concerned. I’d imagine there will be a few clubs with more than one player unvaccinated and it’ll be tough to swallow for clubs and their supporters having to take on the French clubs short handed.

Thank you.

Pleased that they actually reported it albeit surprised that it wasn’t/isn’t considered to be a headline story.

I’m amazed and disappointed that our Parliament has voted for this.
A lot of loyal and highly trained staff are going to be thrown on the scrap heap for no guaranteed outcome even if all nhs staff are vaccinated.
Stupidity of the highest order.

It was one of the lead stories yesterday on the site, I'd say about the 5th so it wasnt hidden away.
Theyve also done numerous stories relating to NHS staff who don't want to be vaccinated inc the doctor who challenged sajid javid and this one
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-h ... e-59986794

They also run numerous fact checking stories through a lady called Rachel schraer (not sure of spelling)

As I said Jukes it was probably my inability to do the correct search and I’m pleased that they are reporting it.
I will check out the Rachel lady. I haven’t heard of her so hopefully some interesting reading.
It’s that long since I logged onto the site it took me several attempts to get on as I couldn’t remember my password.

I’m just surprised that it isn’t the top headline as once February 3rd is passed then in theory it’s a point of no return.
I never thought I would live in a country where such jaw dropping absurd legislation passes with such a majority and it isn’t the story that all news outlets lead on. I find it unforgivable.
