As a KR fan I would be disapointed to see him leave. He has missed a few games this year but the main injury was a blood clot so it isn't as if he is injury prone. He also got player of the year last year in his first year at the club.

'Its like the jungle out there, only the strong survive and the weak get killed off and that's whats happened in Hull. They'll run to the end of the season then that's it, they'll be gone, there will be no more Hull Kingston Rovers there's no room for them.'

Tim Wilby, 1997. Screw you Tim.

Re: Blake green HKR Stand off : Wed Aug 08, 2012 10:55 pm
I hope not. Green and Dobbo were exceptional last year and compliment each other very well. Blake has good hands and kicking game, with a great show and go and likes running it which compliments Dobbo perfectly. Hes had a injury hit season but I dont think we should get rid in light of this, he was our best player last year and in the first half against London was really playing somewhere near back to his best. I think in your structure of attack he would go very well and surprise you how good he is. Shame if we lose him.

If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.

Don't take too much notice of what some people say here. If a potential new signing is not currently playing SOO he might as well not bother coming!!

Good old Hull

I think the idea is, if we mention enough players, then someone will be eventually right and profess to having sources higher than Adam Pearson!

FWIW - I have heard Galloway is coming though

Green is a very good player, and with the players around him and winning environment at Wigan, I could only see him been a very good signing for you. If you were to sign him, a we got Burns to replace him, I'd have to say i'd be happy though.

They moaned about Matty Smith= he's been exceptional to date.

Times have gone where you could go out and replace NRL stars with more NRL stars. The clubs who'll stay at the top in this league are those who develop their own and are wise enough with the cap to build a strong 'squad' whilst keeping their top players happy.

I agree no one really gave those a chance and IMO he's a decent prospect and I think he could do a good job at Wigan. At the same time I really rated Powell on Friday night and I think he deserves a proper chance. After all look what happened when Sam got his chance in the absence of smith.

Powell is no Tomkins though and that's Not to belittle him because who is?

Powell should be back up next year and no more. We have Matty Smith who could play 9 if Micky Mac was to miss any games so that expands Powell's chances also.

If I were Powell my aim would be to get in to a Jack Hughes position where you called on as a first reserve and will play 10-15 games a year. That would be a great platform to kick on from.

Agree.
Powell is very similar to a young Tommy Leuluai, so he can also back up the 7 and 9 positions. Those who have watched him come through the academy systems will know what a good defender he is.

Defensively he is, but I would imagine Powell is much better at the traditional aspects of halfback play (i.e kicking, passing and organising the play) than a young Leuluai was. I see him as more of a young Paul Deacon in an attacking sense, except Powell can pass to his right.
