The whole setting for a rugby game and your 'team' is different to that of the theatre and an 'act' - So, that's why it's different. I couldn't relate the two - and to be honest mate, this is going off course now.
If I went watching an act at a concert, say the arctic monkeys for example, and I had the loyalty for the arctic monkeys as I do for Wigan, then yes, I'd still applaud them regardless, because that's what a loyal fan does... I wouldn't boo them, I'd applaud them, and have the faith in them.
Just like I have faith in Wigan, I wouldn't judge them, boo them off, leave early whether it be after 1 game or 8 games... It's just not something you do to a team you follow.
Why should Wigan RL or whomever be any different? Does it not make you gullible if your behaviour is dictated by blind loyalty. The nearest one should get to blind loyalty is your family and to put a sporting team on the same pedastal seems very unhealthy.
For the record I do not boo the team. I have left early on occasions irrespctive of whether Wigan are winning or losing simply to escape the traffic. I would never dictate what other fans should do though. They pay their money and a free to do as they please.
I attend as many acad/res fixtures as work permits
I live in wigan now but have been in HM Forces for a good few years so I have traveled a fair few miles to watch wigan play over the years
if you support a team why boo them when they lose, thats not showing loyalty
who gives a crap what I wear or how much I spend , thats being a bit childish aint it????
The questions were general questions JF Bet you missed a few matches serving in the forces though. Now I do not think there is anything wrong with that but some might
Personally, I think supporters creating any hierachy of loyal ness / true supporterish is a bit silly. Each to their own IMO.
i know this post has gone off the rails a little, but it really does annoy me when people leave early when were winning or if where getting beat, what do you achieve by leaving early.
the only other thing i wanna say is if your a fan you try and get behind your team and encourege them, not boo and cheer when someone catches the ball after one game in hard conditions its abit pathetic.

At the next match if you are near somebody who does that you tell them
Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions
For every fan that moans about not coming back next week and leaves early, there is a fan who would be there week in week out watching us get battered in NL2.
We are indeed a proud club that expects the very best, but we don't have a God-given right to win every game or even play to our abilities EVERY game. That's professional sport for you.
Take the rough with the smooth and get behind the lads.

correct mate, if your a fan you get behind the team not boo them , i cant believe people are defending there right to think its right to boo them after 1 game, they wernt booing after the last minute try against hudds in the freindly

Leaving early is not something I do but they did not get any applause off me on Sunday. Applause was not deserved and has it ever crossed your mind if you applaud rubbish like that when they do actually play well your applause are meaningless?
