I do find this 'holier than thou' attitude of some Latics fans amusing, slating Lenegan as a vulture for having the audacity to bid for the stadium at a knock down price during their hour of need.
They bought Euxton training ground from Bolton Wanderers for £2.5m a few years ago when Bolton were suffering a large unpaid tax bill.
Back in 2012 Bolton were looking to sell the ground for what they believed to be worth at £75m
Coming from the BWFC Forums is a claim that Bolton Wanderers are close to selling their Euxton training ground for the (reportedly) hefty fee of £75 million.

It's business. You wouldn't go in a closing down sale and say "Ignore the £20 tag, i'll give you the full £100 they cost last week" would you?

Fully agree. Just been on twitter and someone was whinging that Euxton has been sold for reportedly 'less than a million'. He replied with "but we paid £2.2m for it".
Won't be happy when he finds out IL has only shelled out a fraction of what the DW was worth (£30m when new). Assuming the rumours of course.

They don't seem to be able to grasp that they've lost any negotiating power and that's why all their assets are being flogged for pennies in the pound. They're deluded.

They seem to think the administrators are there to save the club so are throwing crazy, libellous, things around.
Since many simply haven't learned the basics of what the administrators role is, I fear they will be quick to anger if their club disappears because nobody wants to sink yet more money into what is almost certainly a black hole.
Apart from his racist remarks? Or the absolute drivel the WEP used to lap up every week? One week he's saying Bruce is the next England manager and then a month later Bruce is the devil and the reason they are down in the relegation zone.
What about his sporting achievements? Imo the guys done more to divide the town down sporting lines than anyone - all for his (unsustainable) dream of PL footy.
His stewardship of our club was simply a PR stunt to paint himself as 'Mr Wigan'. Compare him to IL and the good he's done for us Vs the nose dive we had under Whelan and it's night and day. We saw deliberate SC breaches, a criminal lack of youth brought through, a relegation scrap and the club's reputation in tatters. Maybe that's why the Latics fans are so scared of IL as they've seen first hand what happens when you're placed number two in your owners affections
I'm also a Union fan and know many good people at Orrell who watched years of hard work go down the drain once Whelan had has his fill. Granted they took his coin, but like many others (including our own shareholders) they were sold a pipedream.
He's lauded for building a knock-off stadium on a known marsh land that needs the pitch digging up and replacing every 12 months. I suppose that doesn't matter to the football fans tho as it doesn't impact their season...
To top it all off he names the stadium after himself and sticks a statue out front.
Sir, if you can tell me your local I’ll have a pint waiting for you at the bar. One of the most spot on posts I’ve seen on here, for years.

The holier than thou act is laughable. When Bolton were in the financial proverbial creek without a paddle, they couldn’t get enough of it. Lapping it up, rubbing it in. And now it’s happened to them they get all offended when a Bolton fan gives it them back.
Dont give it if you can’t take it.

It's what we did with Saints when they were struggling and they did to us witj Central Park. It's rivalry.
Latics fans quite rightly feel angry at how this has come about. It sounds dodgy as.
