I'd be made up to get Joel back. It's not possible to tell for sure that he could make it back to his previous level but I'd back him. He's a big, athletic lad and has that aggression a forward needs.

To get him back this season and get some games in his legs ready for next year would be great.

I got told he had signed for Salford (or was signing). It came from a relative of his so pretty believable. Shame if true.

Has anyone seen him play in Union recently? What's his form been like? I'd be wary of any long-term contract if he came back to us & it's not like he'd be able to slot straight in (how many times would he have to be told not to throw the ball back in from touch? ).
If he went to Salford I'd not be that miffed, but you can bet your bottom dollar that they'd make sure everyone knew about it and Koukash would be milk it for all it was worth (and more). Which wouldn't be any bad thing.

(But then, you'd not have long to wait for the Yawnion mob to start on that "he never really took to the game" etc....)

Can't believe anyone wouldn't want him back at Wigan.

We still hold his Super League signature. They can't just sign him.

Koukash said Salford had 4 signed up last week. If you presume Locke was one then BJB took it to 2 and Weller Hauraki is rumoured to be as good as done so that leaves one player unaccounted for.

Let's hope it's not Joel Tomkins, I think we need exactly his type of forward here.

After the WCC and where SW etc thought we had been "outsized" as well as many other things they said it would alter their view on recruitment.
Joel is a back rower who's 6'5" compared to Faz and Bateman who are both considerably smaller.
Perhaps Joel is the first opportunity where they have been able to find a player who suits their new view on recruitment.
If we still have his registration then that is a big plus. Koukash will have to pay a transfer fee as well as match Joel's salary expectations.
Best of luck to the club, I hope they are successful in signing him!
