A few points:

1- I don't think we will see Locke in SL. He'll back out of the deal and stay in the NRL.

2- With all the recent rumors about Taylor to Hull FC I'm sure last night was a massive eye opener. Outside of the NRL Wigan should be his first and only thought.

Ditto - Given that this year would appear to be a transition period (is anyone seriously thinking we're going win much?) I would take a small punt now that SW will stay for 15 to consolidate & plough on & may even have a look at the England position after McBanana screws up (again) in the autumn 4 nations (which is here next year isn't it?).

Do you not think we have a chance in the Cup? (I'd fancy us in a Leeds/Wigan final)

As for the GF. Who knows by Sept/Oct? We are probably second favourites behind Leeds. Will Leeds be able to sustain their current level of performance? Surely we have a pretty good chance in both competitions?

"Cautious" not exactly negative. I'm concerned that there are too many younglings in the squad (however damned good they are) that we're being forced to use maybe ahead of their time because of injuries. We're currently down a third of the squad & that can't bode well for rotation at the sticky end of the year if they're knackered come August or September.

I do have faith in SW though & I'm sure everyone will try their damndest, I'm just suspicious it might be a little too much to ask.

Wigan have a great chance of winning trophies again IMO. When everyone is fit and playing their 'best games' that are reserved for when it really matters we've got a top side still. We're playing the system again at the minute, holding a little back in league games and resting people when we can. Even looking at our injury situation at the moment I'm convinced if Saturday was a play off fixture we'd see a good few of those lads back but why risk them when it isn't necessary?!

We'll build now in to our next important game which is Castleford in the cup. The whole squads getting a run at the moment and the competition for places in the build up to that will be massive.

agreed. if rotation is managed, then there shouldn't be an issue. I think we'll be up there, but I think Leeds & StH (and Cas) are a year ahead in their development having (not floundered, but) underperformed in the last couple of years they're now firing straight.

Leeds are just so settled and they've somehow managed to keep their squad together which has enabled them to move forward by basically standing still! Other clubs have lost players to retirement and the NRL (just us) which had meant Leeds looked to have moved in to pole position to win the big trophies.

We're still a good shout though. I can't see anything other then a reasonably comfortable victory for Leeds on Saturday but when a knock out game comes up against them it will be a totally different Wigan side they will be facing. We can hopefully catch them by surprise.
