I'm pretty sure wane said after the challenge cup final that the win got him one more year at Wigan then he was 'done'

Too true. If somebody told me he'd signed a 10 year deal I'd be delighted.

They mentioned it to IL during the cup celebrations and he confirmed it (2014 + 2015).

I remember that he got an extra year for getting to Wembley then further year for winning but I would have thought a further year at least for winning the double would have been in order. I don't recall anything being said after OT.

Aye perhaps IL didn't want to give him 3 extensions within a year. 2 seasons is plenty time to get it sorted if he keeps up the good work.

perhaps it works both ways. being such a 'true club man' the chairman is keeping SW in a job whilst not tying him up to a contract that could make it difficult for him if he wanted to leave.
assuming that both are honest men, isnt a year at a time is sufficient ?

i wouldn't blame him if wanted a year or two in the NRL he is a better coach than majority of them and i would say on par with Madge who is held as a god over there. But i would much rather he stay at wigan for at least another 3 years.
