Bottom of the story says Green linked with Melbourne again. Surely were not contemplating replacing him with Sammut!

No chance, I can see him going there for 2015 with Hampshire, S.Powell or Williams taking the 6 shirt but not before that.

I hope so, this Green to Melbourne rumour seems to be another one that keeps cropping up and won't go away though. I'm sure SW and the rest of the coaching staff would be pretty annoyed to say the least if they'd put a full preseason in with Green at 6 only for him to leave a few weeks before the season started. Hopefully this Sammut rumour is nonsense, I'd rather give Sam Powell the 6 shirt with Hampshire as back up.

As far as props go, I agree with those above who have said we could do with another one. I was pleased to see we were linked with Patrick, I don't think he had his best season last year which is a little surprising considering how well Hudds did, but he's one of the best mid 20s British props around IMO. I can't think of anyone from within SL in their late 20s/early 30s of the right quality who we could bring in to add experience to the pack. If we're looking at players who are still developing then Chris Green from Hull FC (24) or Adam Lawton from Widnes (20) could be options.

With pre-season kicking off this weekend I'd be very surprised to see any players leave the top 5 SL clubs or any NRL club if they expect to make the best 17. Surely if we could have signed a good experienced prop with a bit of mongrel that people are calling for we would have done it already. There is of course the option of more project signings like the two you mention but we have quite of few of them to be going on with, and any signing we make now won't have benefitted from our pre-season training either. IMO better to stick with what we've got unless someone really good becomes available or we have an injury crisis. Perhaps the plan is for Clubb/Burke/Hopkins to be converted into prop forward while we have so many back rowers. It worked for Flower!

Shaun Wane to Coach the NZWarriors in 2015 according to Sydney league Identity Peter Peters on Radio Sport NZ today....claims his sources say it is a done deal.

Obviously this rumor was sparked when Wanes Wife came out here with Tomkins Mother on an all expenses paid trip last year.

The rumor is seems won't die

I thought it was 1 year and then Leneghan added year(s) on top after the CC win. These rumours won't go away which is worrying.

2 years after the CC final. Those 'in the know' all told us he was going to be coaching NZ in 2014 before he signed that extension.....

Nothing was ever confirmed about Wanes extension. I'm pretty sure we only have him tied down for this year but hope I'm wrong.

Ceo Wayne Scurrah (NZW) described the Shaun Wane Rumor as 'rubbish' this afternoon.

Mind you he said as much about so many things that have since come to fruition, the most recent being denying the preseason trial Game would go ahead.
