Right so one player has 10 / 15 years in the game but never makes the 'big time'. He's either not good enough or unlucky.

We've seen Sculthorpe and Farrell play 6 for GB I'd say that points to Briers not being good enough.

Time to stop the excuses. He was a decent player but not international class. There's nothing wrong with that BTW.

Going back to my OP Eastmond is international class so hence he's a step up from Briers who wasn't.

unless someone has at least £300K a year spare salary cap don't think they will be leaving their NRL teams

I reckon we've had seven players leave during or at the end of last season :- Hock, Prescott, Lauaki, Tomkins, Richards, Mossop, Tuson.
Six players signed :- Bowen, Pettybourne, Clubb, Sarginson, Hopkins & Bateman.
Wane said we still have room under the SC if the right player became available.
Eastmond or not, we may well sign another player. It is also now well established that Wigan RL will pay transfer fees to obtain the player they want.
Eastmond may or may not arrive at Wigan. Some signings have been seen as on their way as in Bowen, Clubb, Sarginson and Hopkins, others were not predicted, Pettybourne and Bateman.
We have such a big squad it's difficult to see where they will all get a game each week.

Don't forget Andy Powell. If we're counting Hock as an 'out', Powell must count as an 'in', so seven out and seven in. Quite possible that we have what we have for next season.

In todays M.E.N. it says that Kyle Eastmond is the latest player linked with Salford, but priority talks are taking place aimed at persuading a top back rower from within S/L to come on board. It also says that Salford have been linked with this player in the past, although it is not Danny Kirmond whose price was deemed to be to high.

I wonder if Salford having seen the amount of forwards in the Wigan squad are having another go for Hansen.
