TBF I think the same. I don’t like or respect wire but they deserve a massive thumbs up for what they are doing.
It’s about time a team in SL showed a set of balls and try to copy what we did during our pomp.
Wire are trying to create a quality team based on the best talent out there and I personally can’t see a problem with it!!!
If the rest of SL (us included) showed this sort of ambition SL would be a much better competition.
They've got the financial backing to be able to do it so why not.
It's interesting to look at Notts County in football at the moment. League 2 in football has a wage cap for a total squad what is way below what Sol Campbell is earning on his own but they also have a clause in that wage cap that states you can sign players outside of this cap if you can get somebody to pay their salaries as a gift(or something along those lines).
Rugby League at the minute would struggle to attract many big money owners because there is little point in having cash in rugby league. It's almost impossible to spend it outside of the odd transfer fee and even thats hard because you need to have the salary cap room to fit them in.
The old rules where you could spend a percentage of your turnover was surely better for the sport. It makes everybody work as hard as they possibly can to make their clubs grow so that they can compete. The sport rewards lazt clubs at the moment.
