Statistically he looks a good player in terms of his yardage and workrate. I also read a lot of positive comments about him from North Queensland fans on one of their forums a while back. There has to be a couple of lads like that who we can bring in to improve things, without breaking the bank.

Better than Tolman and Woods, anyway. Tolman is clapped out, and Woods only seems to play when he feels like it, and if he's like that in the NRL, what would he be like in SL?

Napa has been really poor for Canterbury as well. I’d just go down the route of getting 2 or 3 lads in like Jensen. They won’t cost the earth, they’d bring experience and they’ll drive competition because of the depth we’d then have. Everyone is guaranteed a spot at the moment pretty much because they know Lam won’t pick the likes of Clark or even Bullock if everyone is fit. We have to be able to do better than those two and Clubb.

Let’s hope the wheels are turning in the background because there’s so much work to do and if they are turning, they’re doing it very quietly because other than a couple of budget squad fillers there aren’t any rumours flying about.

We do need new players in various positions most notably prop forward.
I do think though that these current players deserve another chance and the only way to do that is with a new Head Coach.

There are some real quality players who are playing well below their capability. This needs to be turned around and that will be a difficult job. Whilst there are quality players in the squad there are some that are either not up to it or need to up their game and improve in so many aspects. Perhaps that improvement will only come with a new Head Coach.

I get the feeling there’s a war of words coming between club and certain sections of fans that will be based around poor attendances and Lenagan not willing to invest.

Yeah, I remember doing a bit of research on him when it looked like he might be coming and the fans were very complimentary of him and said he should have been a regular and was performing better than their big names. He certainly fits the profile of someone who could do well over here.
