Definitely a no thanks for me on that score and I was quite open to it.

50% just repeating rumours everyone has heard anyway (e.g saying Wire have signed Williams at this point). 50% repeating rumours that don't happen, and people just seem to forget (e.g us signing Widdop and Denny Solomona).

I’m not a member on that board but I’ve wandered over there and the chap in question does see himself as some sort of oracle when as you say a lot of what he says is either rumour or common knowledge such Gildart leaving,fun to read though

The frequency he posts, the level of detail and the fact he posts things before it becomes official leads me to believe he’s in the know and telling the truth.



The issue I think some people have is that not everything he says happens. I think that’s just because he’s giving so much information rather than concrete rumours and happenings.

What’s actually come off that he’s said (other than rumours we all know about)? He gives about 10 scenarios on a rumour that’s made its way in to the press to seemingly cover every base. He says we’re after positions but gives no names and then the next player in that position that signs somewhere, he then claims it them and we miss out on them. He throws names out we were after once they’ve signed elsewhere like Oliver Holmes, yet he didn’t mention him at all or us being after a second row until once he’d signed somewhere else.



I can’t think of a single example where he’s thrown a name out before it’s been in the press and it’s come off. It’ll only be when he manages that when he’ll convince most people he really is in the know. Going off recent signings and concrete rumours, I recall nothing on Singleton, nothing on Field and nothing on the rumoured ins of Thornley, Mason and Miski. He’s now saying Mason has signed and will be announced in the next couple of weeks. Well, we all could predict that will be the case.



In short I think he likes the attention of making these predictions and that’s fair enough. I enjoy reading them to be fair although take every single comment with a huge pinch of salt.

If its who i think it is and you have ever been fishing in Appley Bridge and seen him about, he comes across as a bit of a gobs***e

It’s a different guy I believe. The fishing bloke seems to get the odd one right in fairness. This other lad claims he knows everything that is going on, down to the type of tea bags in the canteen but I honestly can’t remember him throwing ‘an exclusive’ out there that has come off.

Like Nicky says, I quite like reading them and he may actually have a contact, but a lot of it is repeating what's already rumoured.

Possibly, possibly not. He may have a contact but you must admit that a lot of the stuff he posts is based on rumours already out there. Or as Nicky alluded to, he mentions stuff after the event.



I enjoy reading them anyway so I hope he carries on.

Sussed him out ages ago, when confronted he post's everything he claims to have posted in the past, most of which was already known, He actually pm'd me on Mikes site after I made a comment about the two props he said we where signing along with Georgy who was going to sign on the last 2 Fridays, Only guy I believe on there is the fish far bloke

He wouldn’t name the two props and waited for two signings to be confirmed elsewhere and the first prop signed anywhere after his rumour was Mulhern. , so he was one. Nobody has signed another prop since to my knowledge, so George Lawler was the next one, even though he’s a loose forward and isn’t moving until next season.



I’m keeping my eye on the championship second rower we’re after. He’s not named him but my guess is once a second rower from the championship does move to superleague (and one probably will), it will be him and we missed out on him.



It’s something we could all do. I’m saying we’re looking at a championship prop, an NRL prop and a halfback from the NRL. I can’t name them though and I’ll come back to you all with who they are after they sign here or elsewhere. Don’t push me on names as I cannot give them. We’re after Wane coming back as well and he may or may not do and if he doesn’t we’ll look elsewhere. We considered Sinfield and had informal talks but he’s going to Union.
