To me we either go big on somebody like Johnson or Sezer or we may as well just stick with Field and Smith. Talk of somebody like Richardson is a non starter for me. I don’t think he’d bring anything that Field and Richardson couldn’t, other than maybe better goalkicking than Harry Smith. A genuine option who can shift between halfback and hooker would be handy to replace Tommy but they’re few and far between.
I stick by my opinion that we absolutely have to nail the coaching decision and the signing of a couple of powerful forwards in the next off season and anything else is secondary for now. The guy who says he’s in the know on the other board says we’re only signing cheap players for next season and will spend nowhere near the cap but in the last 24 hours he said we’d upped our bid for Williams, had bid for Tomkins, Davies, Holmes and Luke Thompson, had been turned down by them all and had now decided we’re skint and won’t be going near the cap. That is one hell of a day or two’s worth of decisions..ha ha. It’s as though he covers every single base and then eventually goes ‘see, I told you so’. I do love his rumours though.
