If Liverpool or City are playing Burnley and they are ripping them apart, the commentators would be waxing lyrically about Salah, Mane, De Bruyne etc and how great it is to see that talent playing. They wouldn't be making out that some of the Burnley lads are at the level of these generational talents.
RL is obsessed with the underdog, or "competitiveness" of games. It's time to celebrate the blowouts, like footy would if city put 6 past someone. We also, don't need to fabricate that Johnny No Name playing for [insert poop small club name] is some kinda superstar, when you've actually got Bevan French and Field on the pitch.
If everyone is labelled as a "superstar", then actually no one comes across like that.
